Commentary on Quran 46:1

تَنزِيلُ الْكِتَابِ مِنَ اللَّهِ الْعَزِيزِ الْحَكِيمِ
The [gradual] sending down of the Book is from Allah, the All-mighty, the All-wise.
Commentary on Quran 46:2
[Pooya/Ali Commentary 46:2] Refer to the commentary of Zumar: 1 and 2; Zukhruf: 2 to 4.
مَا خَلَقْنَا السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا إِلَّا بِالْحَقِّ وَأَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى وَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا عَمَّا أُنذِرُوا مُعْرِضُونَ
We did not create the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them except with consummate wisdom and for a specified term. Yet the faithless are disregardful of what they are warned.
Commentary on Quran 46:3
[Pooya/Ali Commentary 46:3] Refer to Ibrahim: 2. Everything made by Allah has a just purpose to be fulfilled. Nothing is permanent in this world. Everything is for an appointed term and to pass away after it has fulfilled its purpose, but disbelievers turn away from what they are warned. Aqa Mahdi Puya says: In the beginning of surah al Jathiyah man has been invited to reflect on the signs found in creation and in this surah the purposefulness of the creation has been asserted.
قُلْ أَرَأَيْتُم مَّا تَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ أَرُونِي مَاذَا خَلَقُوا مِنَ الْأَرْضِ أَمْ لَهُمْ شِرْكٌ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ ائْتُونِي بِكِتَابٍ مِّن قَبْلِ هَذَا أَوْ أَثَارَةٍ مِّنْ عِلْمٍ إِن كُنتُمْ صَادِقِينَ
Say, ‘Tell me about those you invoke besides Allah. Show me what [part] of the earth have they created. Do they have any share in the heavens? Bring me a scripture [revealed] before this, or some vestige of [divine] knowledge, if you are truthful.’
Commentary on Quran 46:4
[Pooya/Ali Commentary 46:4] Refer to Fatir : 40. The false gods the polytheists worship either do not exist, or they are ordinary mortals. They neither create or originate anything on earth, nor have they a share in the creation and working of the universe, nor do they have a book from the supreme Lord to guide mankind. The prophets or messengers of Allah have such authority, and they bring evidence of the true God. The fact is that falsehood is delusion. As the polytheists worship false gods, a large majority of Muslims follow false leaders, though the true guides have been identified by Allah and the Holy Prophet. وَمَنْ أَضَلُّ مِمَّن يَدْعُو مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ مَن لَّا يَسْتَجِيبُ لَهُ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ وَهُمْ عَن دُعَائِهِمْ غَافِلُونَ
Who is more astray than him who invokes besides Allah such [entities] as would not respond to him until the Day of Resurrection, and who are oblivious of their invocation?
Commentary on Quran 46:5
[Pooya/Ali Commentary 46:5] If man worships his own self, his faculties will bear witness against him (Ha Mim: 20 to 22), if he worships men of God like Isa, they will disown him (Ma-idah: 11 and 117), if he worships angels, they will disown him (Saba 40 and 41); and even Shaytan will refuse to accept that it was he who led them astray.
وَإِذَا حُشِرَ النَّاسُ كَانُوا لَهُمْ أَعْدَاءً وَكَانُوا بِعِبَادَتِهِمْ كَافِرِينَ
When mankind are mustered [on Judgement’s Day] they will be their enemies, and they will disavow their worship.
Commentary on Quran 46:6

وَإِذَا تُتْلَى عَلَيْهِمْ آيَاتُنَا بَيِّنَاتٍ قَالَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لِلْحَقِّ لَمَّا جَاءَهُمْ هَذَا سِحْرٌ مُّبِينٌ
When Our manifest signs are recited to them, the faithless say of the truth when it comes to them: ‘This is plain magic.’
Commentary on Quran 46:7
[Pooya/Ali Commentary 46:7] Refer to the commentary of Anam 7 to 10 Hud : 7 ; Anbiya : 41 ; Saba : 4 ; Saffat : 12 to 15.
أَمْ يَقُولُونَ افْتَرَاهُ قُلْ إِنِ افْتَرَيْتُهُ فَلَا تَمْلِكُونَ لِي مِنَ اللَّهِ شَيْئًا هُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا تُفِيضُونَ فِيهِ كَفَى بِهِ شَهِيدًا بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَكُمْ وَهُوَ الْغَفُورُ الرَّحِيمُ
Or they say, ‘He has fabricated it.’ Say, ‘Should I have fabricated it, you would not avail me anything against Allah. He best knows what you gossip concerning it. He suffices as a witness between me and you, and He is the All-forgiving, the All-merciful.’
Commentary on Quran 46:8
[Pooya/Ali Commentary 46:8] All impostors come to an evil end.
قُلْ مَا كُنتُ بِدْعًا مِّنَ الرُّسُلِ وَمَا أَدْرِي مَا يُفْعَلُ بِي وَلَا بِكُمْ إِنْ أَتَّبِعُ إِلَّا مَا يُوحَى إِلَيَّ وَمَا أَنَا إِلَّا نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌ
Say, ‘I am not a novelty among the apostles, nor do I know what will be done with me, or with you. I just follow whatever is revealed to me, and I am just a manifest warner.’
Commentary on Quran 46:9
[Pooya/Ali Commentary 46:9] The Holy Prophet taught and preached the unity of Allah to mankind. All other prophets had also brought the same eternal truth. "I follow not anything but that which is revealed to me" confirms that every word and deed of the Holy Prophet was in strict compliance of Allah's will. Refer to the commentary of Baqarah: 40 and 253 for the references in the Bible concerning the advent of the Holy Prophet. Aqa Mahdi Puya says: As said in Araf : 188 and other verses the prophets of Allah did not receive information or knowledge from any worldly source. They were endowed with divine wisdom.
قُلْ أَرَأَيْتُمْ إِن كَانَ مِنْ عِندِ اللَّهِ وَكَفَرْتُم بِهِ وَشَهِدَ شَاهِدٌ مِّن بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ عَلَى مِثْلِهِ فَآمَنَ وَاسْتَكْبَرْتُمْ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يَهْدِي الْقَوْمَ الظَّالِمِينَ
Say, ‘Tell me, if it is from Allah and you disbelieve in it, and a witness from the Children of Israel has testified to its like and believed [in it], while you are disdainful [of it]?’ Indeed Allah does not guide the wrongdoing lot.
Commentary on Quran 46:10
[Pooya/Ali Commentary 46:10] Aqa Mahdi Puya says: This verse refers to Musa, as a witness of the Holy Prophet's divine mission, who gave the glad tidings of the advent of the Holy Prophet, also confirmed by Isa. Refer to the commentary of Baqarah: 40 and 253 for their testimony.
وَقَالَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لِلَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَوْ كَانَ خَيْرًا مَّا سَبَقُونَا إِلَيْهِ وَإِذْ لَمْ يَهْتَدُوا بِهِ فَسَيَقُولُونَ هَذَا إِفْكٌ قَدِيمٌ
The faithless say about the faithful, ‘Had it been [anything] good, they would not have taken the lead over us toward [accepting] it.’ And since they could not find the way to it, they will say, ‘It is an ancient lie.’
Commentary on Quran 46:11
[Pooya/Ali Commentary 46:11] A great many of the early Muslims were mostly poor. The spiritually blind disbelievers despised them; and out of self-conceit rejected the truth on the foolish argument that if Islam had any good they would have been the first to embrace it.
وَمِن قَبْلِهِ كِتَابُ مُوسَى إِمَامًا وَرَحْمَةً وَهَذَا كِتَابٌ مُّصَدِّقٌ لِّسَانًا عَرَبِيًّا لِّيُنذِرَ الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا وَبُشْرَى لِلْمُحْسِنِينَ
Yet before it the Book of Moses was a guide and mercy, and this is a Book in the Arabic language, which confirms it, [sent] to warn the wrongdoers, and is a [bearer of] good news for the virtuous.
Commentary on Quran 46:12
[Pooya/Ali Commentary 46:12] The last revealed book which was a code of life (shari-ah) was the book of Musa, Tawrat; for the Injil was not a code, but merely precepts to wipe out the corruption that had crept in. Isa said: "Think not that I have come to destroy the law or the prophets. I have not come to destroy, but to fulfil." (Matthew 5: 17) All the prophets of Allah preached the unity of Allah. The Quran confirms the law of Musa in Arabic language. Refer to the commentary of Baqarah: 255 for the references from the Old and the New Testaments.
إِنَّ الَّذِينَ قَالُوا رَبُّنَا اللَّهُ ثُمَّ اسْتَقَامُوا فَلَا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ
Those who say, ‘Our Lord is Allah,’ and then remain steadfast, they will have no fear, nor will they grieve.
Commentary on Quran 46:13
[Pooya/Ali Commentary 46:13] To say "Our Lord is Allah" means that Allah will have our exclusive devotion. To put into practice the verbal declaration confirms the faith. In every walk of life it should be proved by righteous deeds, attachment with the truth and the truthful . The greatest example of remaining steadfast on the right path in the hour of most arduous trial was set by Imam Husayn and his comrades in Karbala.
أُولَئِكَ أَصْحَابُ الْجَنَّةِ خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا جَزَاءً بِمَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ
They shall be the inhabitants of paradise, remaining in it [forever]—a reward for what they used to do.
Commentary on Quran 46:14
[Pooya/Ali Commentary 46:14]
وَوَصَّيْنَا الْإِنسَانَ بِوَالِدَيْهِ إِحْسَانًا حَمَلَتْهُ أُمُّهُ كُرْهًا وَوَضَعَتْهُ كُرْهًا وَحَمْلُهُ وَفِصَالُهُ ثَلَاثُونَ شَهْرًا حَتَّى إِذَا بَلَغَ أَشُدَّهُ وَبَلَغَ أَرْبَعِينَ سَنَةً قَالَ رَبِّ أَوْزِعْنِي أَنْ أَشْكُرَ نِعْمَتَكَ الَّتِي أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيَّ وَعَلَى وَالِدَيَّ وَأَنْ أَعْمَلَ صَالِحًا تَرْضَاهُ وَأَصْلِحْ لِي فِي ذُرِّيَّتِي إِنِّي تُبْتُ إِلَيْكَ وَإِنِّي مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ
We have enjoined man to be kind to his parents. His mother has carried him in travail, and bore him in travail, and his gestation and weaning take thirty months. When he comes of age and reaches forty years, he says, ‘My Lord! Inspire me to give thanks for Your blessing with which You have blessed me and my parents, and that I may do righteous deeds which please You, and invest my descendants with righteousness. Indeed I have turned to you in penitence, and I am one of the Muslims.’
Commentary on Quran 46:15
[Pooya/Ali Commentary 46:15] Refer to the commentary of Ankabut: 8; Luqman: 14;and Baqarah: 233. The maximum period of breast-feeding is 2 years by which time the first dentition is ordinarily completed in a human child. The minimum period of human gestation is 6 months. After deducting 6 months from the 30 months mentioned in this verse 24 months remain as the time of weaning at the age of 2 years. Ihsan is not repayment. It implies initiative in doing good without expecting a return. 40 is the normal age of the maturity of intellectual faculties. At this age man begins to look to his growing children, and, if he is a believer, present them to the Lord with confidence.
أُولَئِكَ الَّذِينَ نَتَقَبَّلُ عَنْهُمْ أَحْسَنَ مَا عَمِلُوا وَنَتَجَاوَزُ عَن سَيِّئَاتِهِمْ فِي أَصْحَابِ الْجَنَّةِ وَعْدَ الصِّدْقِ الَّذِي كَانُوا يُوعَدُونَ
Such are the ones from whom We accept the best of what they do, and overlook their misdeeds, [who will be] among the inhabitants of paradise—a true promise which they had been given.
Commentary on Quran 46:16

وَالَّذِي قَالَ لِوَالِدَيْهِ أُفٍّ لَّكُمَا أَتَعِدَانِنِي أَنْ أُخْرَجَ وَقَدْ خَلَتِ الْقُرُونُ مِن قَبْلِي وَهُمَا يَسْتَغِيثَانِ اللَّهَ وَيْلَكَ آمِنْ إِنَّ وَعْدَ اللَّهِ حَقٌّ فَيَقُولُ مَا هَذَا إِلَّا أَسَاطِيرُ الْأَوَّلِينَ
As for him who says to his parents, ‘Fie on you! Do you promise me that I shall be raised [from the dead] when generations have passed away before me?’ And they invoke Allah’s help [and say]: ‘Woe to you! Believe! Indeed Allah’s promise is true.’ But he says, ‘These are nothing but myths of the ancients.’

أُولَئِكَ الَّذِينَ حَقَّ عَلَيْهِمُ الْقَوْلُ فِي أُمَمٍ قَدْ خَلَتْ مِن قَبْلِهِم مِّنَ الْجِنِّ وَالْإِنسِ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا خَاسِرِينَ
Such are the ones against whom the word has become due, along with the nations of jinn and humans that have passed away before them. They were the losers.
Commentary on Quran 46:18
[Pooya/Ali Commentary 46:18] (see commentary for verse 17)
وَلِكُلٍّ دَرَجَاتٌ مِّمَّا عَمِلُوا وَلِيُوَفِّيَهُمْ أَعْمَالَهُمْ وَهُمْ لَا يُظْلَمُونَ
For everyone there are degrees [of merit] pertaining to what he has done: He will recompense them fully for their works, and they will not be wronged.
Commentary on Quran 46:19
[Pooya/Ali Commentary 46:19] Refer to Qasas: 84. The return of evil will be exactly according to the degree of evil, neither less nor more; but the reward of good deeds will be far more than their merits, on account of the unbounded mercy of the Lord.
وَيَوْمَ يُعْرَضُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا عَلَى النَّارِ أَذْهَبْتُمْ طَيِّبَاتِكُمْ فِي حَيَاتِكُمُ الدُّنْيَا وَاسْتَمْتَعْتُم بِهَا فَالْيَوْمَ تُجْزَوْنَ عَذَابَ الْهُونِ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَسْتَكْبِرُونَ فِي الْأَرْضِ بِغَيْرِ الْحَقِّ وَبِمَا كُنتُمْ تَفْسُقُونَ
The day when the faithless are exposed to the Fire, [they will be told,] ‘You have exhausted your good things in the life of the world and enjoyed them. So today you will be requited with a humiliating punishment for your acting arrogantly in the earth unduly, and because you used to transgress.’
Commentary on Quran 46:20
[Pooya/Ali Commentary 46:20] The disbelievers grabbed at the good things in the life of the world, being greedy of them, seeking them as end in itself, sacrificing good for evil. On the day of judgement they will be told: "You took your choice, and you must pay the price. You did wrong in a rebellious spirit and prided yourselves on your evildoing, not unintentionally or out of ignorance, but constantly and with a determined purpose. Now you will be humbled and disgraced as a fitting punishment." The Holy Prophet, Imam Ali, Bibi Fatimah and their progeny, the divinely chosen guides of the believers, on the other hand, have set exemplary life style in the light of Baqarah: 2 to 5 and 177, so that their followers may achieve success in the life of hereafter. Their life accounts show us that whatever possessions they had were spent in the cause of Allah for the welfare of the people. They made a willing choice of simple and austere life style because the pleasures of the world had no attraction for them at all.
وَاذْكُرْ أَخَا عَادٍ إِذْ أَنذَرَ قَوْمَهُ بِالْأَحْقَافِ وَقَدْ خَلَتِ النُّذُرُ مِن بَيْنِ يَدَيْهِ وَمِنْ خَلْفِهِ أَلَّا تَعْبُدُوا إِلَّا اللَّهَ إِنِّي أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمْ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ
And mention [Hud] the brother of ‘Ad, when he warned his people at Ahqaf—and warners have passed away before and after him—saying, ‘Do not worship anyone but Allah. Indeed I fear for you the punishment of a tremendous day.’
Commentary on Quran 46:21
[Pooya/Ali Commentary 46:21] Refer to the commentary of Araf: 65 to 72; Hud: 50 to 60; Shu-ara: 123 to 140. Ahqaf, plural of hiqf (a heap of sand), refers to the long and winding tracts of sandhills adjoining Hadhramawt and Yaman. Prophet Hud who was raised among the people of Ad was not a stranger but one of their own brethren, as the Holy Prophet was to the Quraysh. The people of Ad were too much involved in their evil ways and worshipped false gods. Therefore they belied the messenger of Allah who told them not to worship any one other than Allah. Mockingly they challenged him to bring on the threatened punishment. It was not for the messenger, but for Allah, to bring on the punishment. The punishment at last came. They wanted rain. There was a cloud in the sky. The thought it would rain and irrigate their land. But no! It was a tremendous hurricane. Its fury destroyed everything in its path. They were wiped out. Nothing was to be seen-the ruins of their habitations were covered by the heaps of sand, and their dead bodies buried under them.
قَالُوا أَجِئْتَنَا لِتَأْفِكَنَا عَنْ آلِهَتِنَا فَأْتِنَا بِمَا تَعِدُنَا إِن كُنتَ مِنَ الصَّادِقِينَ
They said, ‘Have you come to turn us away from our gods? Then bring us what you threaten us with, if you are truthful.
Commentary on Quran 46:22

قَالَ إِنَّمَا الْعِلْمُ عِندَ اللَّهِ وَأُبَلِّغُكُم مَّا أُرْسِلْتُ بِهِ وَلَكِنِّي أَرَاكُمْ قَوْمًا تَجْهَلُونَ
He said, ‘The knowledge [of when that threat will be carried out] is with Allah alone. I communicate to you what I have been sent with. But I see that you are a senseless lot.’

فَلَمَّا رَأَوْهُ عَارِضًا مُّسْتَقْبِلَ أَوْدِيَتِهِمْ قَالُوا هَذَا عَارِضٌ مُّمْطِرُنَا بَلْ هُوَ مَا اسْتَعْجَلْتُم بِهِ رِيحٌ فِيهَا عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ
When they saw it as a cloud advancing toward their valleys, they said, ‘This cloud brings us rain.’ ‘No, it is what you sought to hasten: a hurricane carrying a painful punishment,
Commentary on Quran 46:24

تُدَمِّرُ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ بِأَمْرِ رَبِّهَا فَأَصْبَحُوا لَا يُرَى إِلَّا مَسَاكِنُهُمْ كَذَلِكَ نَجْزِي الْقَوْمَ الْمُجْرِمِينَ
destroying everything by its Lord’s command.’ So they became such that nothing could be seen except their dwellings. Thus do We requite the guilty lot.
Commentary on Quran 46:25

وَلَقَدْ مَكَّنَّاهُمْ فِيمَا إِن مَّكَّنَّاكُمْ فِيهِ وَجَعَلْنَا لَهُمْ سَمْعًا وَأَبْصَارًا وَأَفْئِدَةً فَمَا أَغْنَى عَنْهُمْ سَمْعُهُمْ وَلَا أَبْصَارُهُمْ وَلَا أَفْئِدَتُهُم مِّن شَيْءٍ إِذْ كَانُوا يَجْحَدُونَ بِآيَاتِ اللَّهِ وَحَاقَ بِهِم مَّا كَانُوا بِهِ يَسْتَهْزِئُونَ
Certainly We had granted them power in respects that We have not granted you, and We had vested them with hearing and sight and hearts. But neither their hearing availed them in any way nor did their sight, nor their hearts when they used to impugn the signs of Allah. So they were besieged by what they used to deride.
Commentary on Quran 46:26
[Pooya/Ali Commentary 46:26] The people of Ad, Thamud and other settlements in the Arabian peninsula were more advanced in science and culture than the Makkans, but were destroyed when they belied the messengers of Allah and the message, because the false gods they worshipped could not protect then as they were figments of their imagination.
وَلَقَدْ أَهْلَكْنَا مَا حَوْلَكُم مِّنَ الْقُرَى وَصَرَّفْنَا الْآيَاتِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُونَ
Certainly We have destroyed the towns that were around you, and We have variously paraphrased the signs so that they may come back.
Commentary on Quran 46:27
[Pooya/Ali Commentary 46:27] (see commentary for verse 26)
فَلَوْلَا نَصَرَهُمُ الَّذِينَ اتَّخَذُوا مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ قُرْبَانًا آلِهَةً بَلْ ضَلُّوا عَنْهُمْ وَذَلِكَ إِفْكُهُمْ وَمَا كَانُوا يَفْتَرُونَ
So why did not those [fake deities] help them whom they had taken as gods besides Allah, as a means of nearness [to Him]? Indeed, they forsook them; that was their lie and what they used to fabricate.
Commentary on Quran 46:28

وَإِذْ صَرَفْنَا إِلَيْكَ نَفَرًا مِّنَ الْجِنِّ يَسْتَمِعُونَ الْقُرْآنَ فَلَمَّا حَضَرُوهُ قَالُوا أَنصِتُوا فَلَمَّا قُضِيَ وَلَّوْا إِلَى قَوْمِهِم مُّنذِرِينَ
When We dispatched toward you a team of jinn listening to the Quran, when they were in its presence, they said, ‘Be silent!’ When it was finished, they went back to their people as warners.
Commentary on Quran 46:29
[Pooya/Ali Commentary 46:29] Refer to An-am: 131 and Baqarah: 30 on page 63 for the jinn, and An-am: 101 for those who worship the jinn. When the Holy Prophet lost Abu Talib, his most ardent protector, the pagans of Makka began to harass and persecute him more often with severe measures. In one of such days he went to Taif where the people of the town mocked at him and threw stones on him. While returning from Taif he sat under a palm tree and saw two men coming with some fruits. They were Christians. They offered him the fruits to eat. He recited bismillah before eating them, which prompted the curiosity of the two Christians. Then the Holy Prophet told them many events pertaining to Isa and his disciples. They became Muslims. After their departure the Holy Prophet offered his midnight prayer. At that time a group of jinn, passing by, heard him reciting the Quran. Verse 30 shows that they knew about the book of Musa, but they were impressed with the message of Islam and went back to their people to announce the good news. The Holy Prophet invited all created beings to the worship of Allah. If any refuses to believe the truth, or opposes it, he will be deprived of His grace, mercy and protection, and will be left to go astray and wander in wilderness, helpless and disgraced. The opposition of the disbelievers has not the least effect on Allah's holy plan which goes on to its completion. It is stated in the Minhaj al Sadiqin that once the Holy Prophet took Ibn Masud with him to a cave where he recited surah al Falaq to the jinn. Ibn Masud saw a large gathering of huge birds and serpents. The Holy Prophet told him that nearly ten thousand jinn were there to listen to his recitation.
قَالُوا يَاقَوْمَنَا إِنَّا سَمِعْنَا كِتَابًا أُنزِلَ مِن بَعْدِ مُوسَى مُصَدِّقًا لِّمَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ يَهْدِي إِلَى الْحَقِّ وَإِلَى طَرِيقٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ
They said, ‘O our people! Indeed, we have heard a Book, which has been sent down after Moses, confirming what was before it. It guides to the truth and to a straight path.

يَا قَوْمَنَا أَجِيبُوا دَاعِيَ اللَّهِ وَآمِنُوا بِهِ يَغْفِرْ لَكُم مِّن ذُنُوبِكُمْ وَيُجِرْكُم مِّنْ عَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ
O our people! Respond to Allah’s summoner and have faith in Him. He will forgive you some of your sins and shelter you from a painful punishment.’

وَمَن لَّا يُجِبْ دَاعِيَ اللَّهِ فَلَيْسَ بِمُعْجِزٍ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَيْسَ لَهُ مِن دُونِهِ أَوْلِيَاءُ أُولَئِكَ فِي ضَلَالٍ مُّبِينٍ
Those who do not respond to Allah’s summoner cannot frustrate [Allah] on the earth, and they will not find any protectors besides Him. They are in manifest error.

أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا أَنَّ اللَّهَ الَّذِي خَلَقَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ وَلَمْ يَعْيَ بِخَلْقِهِنَّ بِقَادِرٍ عَلَى أَن يُحْيِيَ الْمَوْتَى بَلَى إِنَّهُ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ
Do they not see that Allah, who created the heavens and the earth and [who] was not exhausted by their creation, is able to revive the dead? Yes, indeed He has power over all things.
Commentary on Quran 46:33
[Pooya/Ali Commentary 46:33] Refer to the commentary of Baqarah: 255. He whose power is constant and unwearied in creating and preserving all things in heavens and earth can surely give life to the dead at the resurrection .
وَيَوْمَ يُعْرَضُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا عَلَى النَّارِ أَلَيْسَ هَذَا بِالْحَقِّ قَالُوا بَلَى وَرَبِّنَا قَالَ فَذُوقُوا الْعَذَابَ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَكْفُرُونَ
The day when the faithless are exposed to the Fire, [He will say,] ‘Is this not a fact?’ They will say, ‘Yes, by our Lord!’ He will say, ‘So taste the punishment because of what you used to disbelieve.’

فَاصْبِرْ كَمَا صَبَرَ أُولُو الْعَزْمِ مِنَ الرُّسُلِ وَلَا تَسْتَعْجِل لَّهُمْ كَأَنَّهُمْ يَوْمَ يَرَوْنَ مَا يُوعَدُونَ لَمْ يَلْبَثُوا إِلَّا سَاعَةً مِّن نَّهَارٍ بَلَاغٌ فَهَلْ يُهْلَكُ إِلَّا الْقَوْمُ الْفَاسِقُونَ
So be patient just as the resolute among the apostles were patient, and do not seek to hasten [the punishment] for them. The day when they see what they are promised, [it will be] as though they had remained [in the world] only an hour of a day. This is a proclamation. So shall anyone be destroyed except the transgressing lot?
Commentary on Quran 46:35
[Pooya/Ali Commentary 46:35] The duty of the messenger of Allah is to proclaim and preach the message in unmistakable terms. Those who accept and believe in the truth will be rewarded. Those who come in his way, rebel or transgress will be punished. There is always hope of forgiveness for those who repent and amend. Aqa Mahdi Puya says: In "as the messengers who were constant", according to the Ahl ul Bayt, the prophets who are referred to are Nuh, Ibrahim, Musa, Isa and the Holy Prophet, the foremost among the messengers and prophets of Allah, being the axis on which the prophethood remains in motion.
