- Data: account-linked identity and contact data such as your name, username, email address, and user ID, together with the information you submit in the application form, such as country, time zone, Arabic and English proficiency, religious background or school-of-thought details, Arabic and English background, experience, availability, motivation, sample responses, page URL, and technical request metadata such as user agent.
- Purpose: to review, process, respond to, and administer volunteer applications and related follow-up communications for roles within Thaqalayn.
- Legal Basis: taking steps at your request prior to entering into a volunteer relationship, and our legitimate interest in recruiting, vetting, and coordinating volunteers for our nonprofit activities. Where you provide information revealing religious beliefs or school-of-thought affiliation, we process that information on the basis of your explicit consent as part of your volunteer application submission.
How Long We Keep Your Data
We do not retain your personal data for longer than is strictly necessary to achieve the purposes for which your data is collected, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.
- Account Data: for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your data within a reasonable timeframe unless legal retention obligations apply.
- Email Addresses for Notifications: until the notification has been sent, or until you request deletion or withdraw your consent.
- Google Analytics Data: retained for a maximum of 26 months and then automatically deleted.
- Email Correspondence: for as long as necessary to handle your request and for a reasonable period thereafter for follow-up or archival purposes.
- Volunteer Applications: for as long as necessary to review your application, communicate with you about that application, maintain recruitment records, and document volunteer onboarding or rejection decisions, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.

For the use of Google Analytics, data may be transferred to servers in the United States. Google LLC is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, which provides an adequate level of protection for the transfer of personal data. We also maintain a processing agreement with Google that incorporates Standard Contractual Clauses where necessary.
Security of Your Data
We take the protection of your data seriously and apply appropriate technical and organizational measures to prevent misuse, loss, unauthorized access, unwanted disclosure, and unauthorized modification.
