1 - حدثنا الشيخ الجليل أبو جعفر محمد بن علي بن الحسين بن موسى ابن بابويه القمي (رضي الله عنه)، قال: حدثنا علي بن عبد الله الوراق، قال: حدثنا سعد بن عبد الله، عن الهيثم بن أبي مسروق النهدي، قال: حدثنا إسماعيل بن مهران، عن محمد بن يزيد، عن سفيان الثوري، قال: حدثني جعفر بن محمد، عن أبيه محمد بن علي، عن أبيه علي بن الحسين، عن أبيه الحسين بن علي، عن أخيه الحسن، عن أبيه علي بن أبي طالب (عليهم السلام)، قال: من صام يوما من رجب في أوله أو في وسطه أو في آخره غفر له ما تقدم من ذنبه، ومن صام ثلاثة أيام من رجب في أوله وثلاثة أيام في وسطه وثلاثة أيام في آخره غفر له ما تقدم من ذنبه وما تأخر، ومن أحيا ليلة من ليالي رجب أعتقه الله من النار وقبل شفاعته في سبعين ألف رجل من المذنبين، ومن تصدق بصدقة في رجب ابتغاء وجه الله أكرمه الله يوم القيامة في الجنة من الثواب بما لا عين رأت ولا أذن سمعت ولا خطر على قلب بشر (1).

قال

Abu Ja`far Muhammad b. `Ali b. al-Husayn b. Musa b. Babuwayh al-Qummi (ra) narrated to us. He said: `Ali b. `Abdullah al-Warraq narrated to us. He said: Sa`d b. `Abdullah narrated to us from al-Haytham b. Abi Masruq al-Nahdi. He said: Isma`il b. Mehran narrated to us from Muhammad b. Yazid from Sufyan al-Thawri. He said: Ja`far b. Muhammad narrated to me from his father Muhammad b. `Ali from his father `Ali b. al-Husayn from his father al-Husayn b. `Ali from his brother al-Hasan from his father `Ali b. Abi Talib (as). He said: Whoever fasts one day in the beginning, middle, or end of Rajab, he will be forgiven of his past sins. Whoever fasts three days in the beginning, three days in the middle, and three days in the end, he will be forgiven of his past and future sins. Whoever keeps vigil for one night in Rajab, Allah will free him from the Fire and accept his intercession for seventy thousand sinners. Whoever gives in charity in Rajab, seeking Allah’s face, Allah will reward him in Paradise with that which no eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no human heart has imagined.

2 - حدثنا علي بن أحمد بن موسى (رضي الله عنه)، قال: حدثنا محمد بن  أبي عبد الله الكوفي، قال: حدثنا موسى بن عمران النخعي، عن عمه الحسين بن يزيد النوفلي، قال: سمعت مالك بن أنس الفقيه يقول: والله ما رأت عيني أفضل من جعفر ابن محمد (عليه السلام) زهدا وفضلا وعبادة وورعا، وكنت أقصده فيكرمني ويقبل علي، فقلت له يوما: يا بن رسول الله، ما ثواب من صام يوما من رجب إيمانا واحتسبا؟ فقال - وكان والله إذا قال الصدق - حدثني أبي، عن أبيه، عن جده، قال: قال رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله): من صام يوما من رجب إيمانا واحتسابا غفر له. فقلت له: يا بن رسول الله، فما ثواب من صام يوما من شعبان؟ فقال: حدثني أبي، عن أبيه، عن جده، قال: قال رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله): من صام يوما من شعبان إيمانا واحتسابا غفر له (1).

`Ali b. Ahmad b. Musa (ra) narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. Abi `Abdullah al-Kufi narrated to us. He said: Musa b. `Imran al-Nakha`i narrated to us from his uncle al-Husayn b. Yazid al-Nawfali. He said: I heard Malik b. Anas the jurist say: By Allah, my eye has not seen one more virtuous than Ja`far b. Muhammad (as) in asceticism, in goodness, in worship, and in piety. I would visit him, and he would receive me and be generous with me. So, one day, I said to him: O son of the Messenger of Allah! What is the reward of one who fasts a day in Rajab in faith and anticipation? So, he said – and whenever he spoke, he was honest –: My father narrated to me from his father from his grandfather. He said: The Messenger of Allah (s) said: “Whoever fasts a day in Rajab in faith and anticipation will be forgiven.” So, I said to him: O son of the Messenger of Allah! What is the reward of one who fasts a day in Sha`ban? So, he said: My father narrated to me from his father from his grandfather. He said: The Messenger of Allah (s) said: “Whoever fasts a day in Sha`ban in faith and anticipation will be forgiven.”

3 - حدثنا أبي (رضي اله عنه)، قال: حدثنا سعد بن عبد الله، عن إبراهيم بن هاشم، عن عبيدالله بن عبد الله الدهقان، عن درست بن أبي منصور، عن عبد الله بن سنان، قال: قال أبو عبد الله الصادق (عليه السلام): لا تمزح فيذهب نورك، ولا تكذب فيذهب بهاؤك وإياك وخصلتين: الضجر، والكسل، فإنك إن ضجرت لم تصبر على حق، وإن كسلت لم تؤد حقا، قال: وكان المسيح (عليه السلام) يقول: من كثر همه سقم بدنه، ومن ساء خلقه عذب نفسه، ومن كثر كلامه كثر سقطه (2)، ومن كثر كذبه ذهب بهاؤه، ومن لاحى (3) الرجال ذهبت مروءته (4).

أبو عبد الله الصادق عليه السلام

My father (ra) narrated to us. He said: Sa`d b. `Abdullah narrated to us from Ibrahim b. Hashim from `Ubaydullah b. `Abdullah al-Dahqan from Darast b. Abi Mansur from `Abdullah b. Sinan. He said: Abu `Abdillah al-Sadiq (a.s.) said: Do not jest, or your light will dissipate. Do not lie, or your splendour will dissipate. Beware of two traits: (1) restlessness, and (2) laziness. If you are restless, you will not be able to bear a responsibility patiently; and if you are lazy, you will not be able to fulfill the right [of another]. He said: The Messiah (as) would say: He whose worries multiply, his body becomes ill. He who worsens his character, his soul suffers. He whose speech multiplies, his errors multiply. He whose lying multiplies, his splendour dissipates. He who disputes men excessively, his chivalry dissipates.

4 - وبهذا الاسناد، عن درست بن أبي منصور، عن عبد الحميد بن عواض الطائي، عن موسى بن جعفر، عن أبيه، عن آبائه (عليهم السلام)، قال: قال رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله): الاكل على الشبع يورث البرص (5).

5 - حدثنا محمد بن الحسن بن أحمد بن الوليد (رضي الله عنه)، قال: حدثنا محمد بن الحسن الصفار، عن أيوب بن نوح، عن صفوان بن يحيى، عن هشام بن سالم، عن أبي عبد الله الصادق (عليه السلام)، قال: قال رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله): إن آدم شكا إلى الله عز وجل ما يلقى من حديث النفس والحزن، فنزل عليه جبرئيل (عليه السلام) فقال له: يا آدم، قل: لا حول ولا قوة إلا بالله، فقالها فذهب عنه الوسوسة والحزن (1).

Muhammad b. al-Hasan b. Ahmad b. al-Walid (ra) narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. al-Hasan al-Saffar narrated to us from Ayyub b. Nuh from Safwan b. Yahya from Hisham b. Salim from Abi `Abdillah al-Sadiq (as). He said: The Messenger of Allah (s) said: Adam complained to Allah about distress and grief, so Gabriel (as) came down to him and said to him: O Adam! Say: “there is no ability nor power except by Allah (la hawla wala quwwata illa billah)”. So, he said it, and the whispering [of his distress] and the grief dissipated.

6 - حدثنا محمد بن إبراهيم بن إسحاق (رضي الله عنه)، قال: أخبرنا أحمد بن محمد الهمداني مولى بني هاشم، قال: أخبرنا المنذر بن محمد، قال: حدثنا جعفر بن سليمان، عن أبيه، عن عمرو بن خالد، قال: قال زيد بن علي بن الحسين بن علي بن أبي طالب (عليه السلام): في كل زمان رجل منا أهل البيت يحتج الله به على خلقه، وحجة زماننا ابن أخي جعفر بن محمد، لا يضل من تبعه، ولا يهتدي من خالفه (2).

Muhammad b. Ibrahim b. Ishaq (ra) narrated to us. He said: Ahmad b. Muhammad al-Hamadani the servant of Bani Hashim informed us. He said: al-Mundhir b. Muhammad informed us. He said: Ja`far b. Sulayman narrated to us from his father from `Amr b. Khalid. He said: Zayd b. `Ali b. al-Husayn b. `Ali b. Abi Talib (as) said: In every age there is a man from us, the Ahl al-Bayt, whom Allah uses as a Proof over His creation. The Proof in our age is my cousin Ja`far b. Muhammad – he does not misguide those who follow him, and he does not guide those who oppose him.

7 - حدثنا أحمد بن علي بن إبراهيم بن هاشم (رحمه الله)، قال حدثني أبي، عن جدي، عن علي بن معبد، عن الحسين بن خالد، عن أبي الحسن علي بن موسى الرضا، عن أبيه موسى بن جعفر، عن أبيه جعفر بن محمد، عن أبيه محمد بن علي، عن أبيه علي بن الحسين، عن أبيه الحسين بن علي، عن أبيه أمير المؤمنين علي بن أبي طالب (عليهم السلام)، قال: قال رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله): أخبرني جبرئيل عن الله جل جلاله أنه قال: علي بن أبي طالب حجتي على خلقي وديان ديني، أخرج من صلبه أئمة يقومون بأمري، ويدعون إلى سبيلي، بهم أدفع العذاب عن عبادي وإمائي، وبهم أنزل رحمتي (3).

أخبرني جبرائيل عن الله جل جلاله أنه قال

Ahmad b. `Ali b. Ibrahim b. Hashim (rh) narrated to us. He said: My father narrated to me from my grandfather from `Ali b. Mu`abbad from al-Husayn b. Khalid from Abi’l Hasan `Ali b. Musa al-Rida from his father Musa b. Ja`far from his father Ja`far b. Muhammad form his father Muhammad b. `Ali from his father `Ali b. al-Husayn from his father al-Husayn b. `Ali from his father Amir al-Mu’minin `Ali b. Abi Talib (as). He said: The Messenger of Allah (s) said: Gabriel informed me that Allah said: “`Ali b. Abi Talib is My Proof over My creation and those who take on My religion. The Imams from his descendants will establish My Order and call to My way. By them, I repel chastisement from My male and female servants. By them, I bring down My mercy.”

8 - حدثنا محمد بن موسى بن المتوكل (رحمه الله)، قال: حدثنا عبد الله بن جعفر الحميري، قال: حدثنا أحمد بن محمد بن عيسى، عن الحسن بن محبوب، عن عبد الله بن سنان، قال سمعت أبا عبد الله الصادق (عليه السلام) يقول: ثلاثة هن فخر المؤمن وزينه في الدنيا والآخرة: الصلاة في آخر الليل، ويأسه مما في أيدي الناس، وولاية الامام من آل محمد (صلى الله عليه وآله).

يقول

Muhammad b. Musa b. al-Mutawakkil (rh) narrated to us. He said: `Abdullah b. Ja`far al-Himyari narrated to us. He said: Ahmad b. Muhammad b. `Isa narrated to us from al-Hasan b. Mahbub from `Abdullah b. Sinan. He said: I heard Aba `Abdillah al-Sadiq (as) say: There are three things that are a pride and adornment for the believer in this world and the Hereafter: (1) prayer at the last part of the night, (2) disregarding that which is in the hands of the people, and (3) wilaya of the Imam from the Family of Muhammad (s).

9 - حدثنا أحمد بن محمد بن يحيى العطار (رضي الله عنه)، قال: حدثنا أبي، عن أحمد بن محمد بن عيسى، عن العباس بن معروف، عن حماد بن عيسى، عن حريز بن عبد الله، أو غيره، قال: نزل على أبي عبد الله الصادق (عليه السلام): قوم من جهينة فأضافهم، فلما أرادوا الرحلة زودهم ووصلهم وأعطاهم، ثم قال لغلمانه: تنحوا لا تعينوهم. فلما فرغوا جاءوا ليودعوه، فقالوا له: يا بن رسول الله، لقد أضفت فأحسنت الضيافة، وأعطيت فأجزلت العطية، ثم أمرت غلمانك أن لا يعينونا على الرحلة؟ فقال (عليه السلام): إنا أهل بيت لا نعين أضيافنا على الرحلة من عندنا (2).

قال نزل على

قوم من جهينة فأضافهم...ثم قال

Ahmad b. Muhammad b. Yahya al-`Attar (ra) narrated to us. He said: My father narrated to us from Ahmad b. Muhammad b. `Isa from al-`Abbas b. Ma`ruf from Hammad b. `Isa from Hariz b. `Abdullah or another person. He said: A group from the Juhayna [tribe] visited Abi `Abdillah al-Sadiq (as) and he hosted them. When they journeyed there, he supplied them, connected them, and gave to them. Then, he said to his servant: Step aside and do not assist them [when they leave]. When they left, they came to him to bid him farewell. So, they said to him: O son of the Messenger of Allah! You have hosted us and beautified your hosting, and you have provided for us and hastened your giving, yet you have commanded your servant to not assist us for our journey. So, he (as) said: We are the People of a House that does not assist its guests in their journey away from us.

10 - حدثنا محمد بن علي ماجيلويه (رحمه الله)، قال: حدثنا محمد بن يحيى العطار، عن محمد بن أحمد بن يحيى بن عمران الاشعري، عن محمد بن عيسى العبيدي. عن أبي زكريا المؤمن، عن سليمان بن خالد، عن أبي عبد الله الصادق (عليه السلام)، قال: إن رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله) أتى شبابا من الانصار، فقال: إني أريد أن أقرأ عليكم، فمن بكى فله الجنة، فقرأ آخر الزمر (وسيق الذين كفروا إلى جهنم زمرا) (3) إلى آخر السورة، فبكى القوم جميعا إلا شاب، فقال: يا رسول الله، قد تباكيت فما قطرت عيني. قال: إني معيد عليكم، فمن تباكى فله الجنة. قال: فأعاد عليهم فبكى القوم وتباكى الفتى، فدخلوا الجنة جميعا (4).

قال إن

أتى شبابا من الأنصار فقال

Muhammad b. `Ali Majiluwayh (rh) narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. Yahya al-`Attar narrated to us from Muhammad b. Ahmad b. Yahya b. `Imran al-Ash`ari from Muhammad b. `Isa al-`Ubaydi from Abi Zakariyya the believer from Sulayman b. Khalid from Abi `Abdillah al-Sadiq (as). He said: The Messenger of Allah (s) met some youth from the Ansar and said: Surely, I want to recite to you; so, whoever weeps will have Paradise. So, he recited the end of [Surat] al-Zumar, “Those who disbelieve will be driven to Hell in groups” (39:71) to the end of the chapter. So, the whole community wept except one youth. Then, he said: O Messenger of Allah! I wept, but the tears did not flow out of my eyes. He said: Then, I will repeat it to you, and whoever weeps will have Paradise. He said: So, he repeated it to them, and the community and the youth wept, so they all went to Paradise.

11 - حدثنا الحسين بن إبراهيم بن أحمد المؤدب (رحمه الله)، قال: حدثنا محمد بن أبي عبد الله الكوفي، قال: حدثنا محمد بن إسماعيل البرمكي، قال: حدثنا  عبد الله بن أحمد بن داهر، قال: حدثنا الفضل بن إسماعيل الكوفي، قال: حدثنا علي ابن سالم، عن أبيه، قال: سألت الصادق جعفر بن محمد (عليه السلام)، فقلت له: يا بن رسول الله، ما تقول في القرآن؟ فقال: هو كلام الله، وقول الله، وكتاب الله، ووحي الله وتنزيله، وهو الكتاب العزيز الذي لا يأتيه الباطل من بين يديه ولا من خلفه، تنزيل من حكيم حميد (1).
