Thaqalayn Website Rework

We are pleased to announce the new Thaqalayn website!


Several features have been added such as a the option to use dark mode.

- Color coded gradings (transliterations and explanations coming soon)

- Color distinction between the chain and main content of the ḥadīth (experimental)

- Buttons for quickly copying the hadith content or link 

- A new search engine has been implemented which also enables autocomplete 

- Chain and narrator info from hadith.inoor.ir has been implemented, currently only for Amālī al-Ṣaduq till other books are imported

More features will be coming in the future as we take the Thaqalayn Network to the next stage, serving the community with more than just the ḥadīth library in sha Allah 

I would like to thank Sayed Kumail for joining the development team and building the revamped Thaqalayn website from the ground up, without him this wouldn't be possible 🙏 

And also a big thank you to the everyone who contributed with a one time or monthly donation, this is what helps cover the hosting costs and can be used to facilitate new upgrades and possible new translations!

Kitāb al-Zuhd has been added to the library

Another book by Ḥusayn b. Saʿīd al-Ahwāzī has been added to the library, his Kitāb al-Zuhd containing 290 tradditions. The book contains traditions related to the topic of Zuhd, in the science of ethics (ʿilm al-akhlāq), al-zuhd is defined as being unattached to the material world, its possessions and its delights. As a trait commonly found in all the Prophets, friends (awliyāʾ) of Allah, and righteous believers, al-zuhd is a sign of piety and Godwariness. The translation was completed by Shaykh Tahir Ridha Jaffer and published by Ansariyan Publications.

Kitāb al-Muʾmin has been added to the library

Kitāb al-Muʾmin attributed to Ḥusayn b. Saʿīd al-Ahwāzī has been added to the library, Ḥusayn b. Saʿīd was a prolific Shi'a scholar and narrator who lived in the first half of the 3rd century. Kitāb al-Muʾmin is an elaborate text containing 201 traditions that describe the nature of Belief (Iman) and Believers (mu’minoon) in the light of traditions of the Ahl al-Bayt, emphasizing on the consequences of belief and the rights the believers have upon each other. The translation was completed by Muhajir b. Ali and published by Ansariyan Publications.

Maʿānī al-ʾAkhbār has been added to the library

We are extremely pleased to announce that the book, Maʿānī al-Akhbār which was commissioned by the Thaqalayn Team has been uploaded. According to Aghā Buzurg al-Ṭehrānī, Sayyid Ibn Ṭāwūs states in his work al-Ṭarāʾif that al-Ṣadūq authored this work in the year 331 AH. This piece comprises of 809 Ḥadīth- and is a unique work in the sense that it was solely compiled by Shaykh al-Ṣadūq in order to explain the meanings found within other narrations present in Imāmī literature. It aims to clarify ambiguities and problems that are posed by certain reports via explanations that are from the Ahlulbayt (upon them be peace). The content comprises of reports that are exegetical, theological, jurisprudential, ethical and historical in nature.

We are happy to announce the completion of another translation commissioned by the Thaqlayn Team, Al-Amālī by Shaykh al-Ṣadūq, Al-Amālī (Arabic:الأمالي) is a book in Arabic written by al-Shaykh al-Saduq (b. after 305/917 — d. 381/991) who was a distinguished Shi'a theologian, man of literature and scholar of jurisprudence and hadith. The book contains the transcripts of al-Shaykh al-Saduq's lectures which were held twice a week on Tuesday and Friday since Rajab 18, 367/March 6, 978 until Sha'ban 11, 368/March 19, 979 in Mashhad and the transcripts were written by his students.
