By this isnad from al-Husayn b. Sa`id from Ayman b. Mahraz from Muhammad b. al-Fadl from Abu Hamza al-Thumali from Abi Ja`far . He said: There is not a worshiper from our Shi`a except that when he rises to pray, there is an angel for every person that opposes him praying behind him and supplicating to Allah on his behalf until he completes his prayer.

Muhammad b. al-Hasan b. Ahmad b. al-Walid narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. al-Hasan al-Saffar narrated to us from Ibrahim b. Hashim from al-Hasan b. Mahbub from Sa`d b. Turayf. He said: `Umayr b. Ma'mun al-`Ataridi narrated to me. He said: I saw al-Hasan b.Ali sit in his place after praying Fajr until sunrise. I heard him say: I heard the Messenger of Allah (s) say: “He who prays Fajr and sits in his place remembering Allah until sunrise, Allah will shield him from the Fire, Allah will shield him from the Fire, Allah will shield him from the Fire.”

Muhammad b. Musa b. al-Mutawakkil narrated to us. He said: `Ali b. Ibrahim narrated to us from his father from Muhammad b. Abi `Umayr from Hammad b. `Uthman from one who heard Aba Sayyar say: I heard Aba `Abdillah al-Sadiq say: Gabriel came to Yusuf when he was in prison and said: “After every obligatory prayer, say: ‘O Allah! Grant me relief and deliverance and give me sustenance from where I expect and from where I do not expect (Allahummaj`al li farajan wa makhrajan warzuqni min haythu ahtasibu wa man haythu la ahtasib)’ three times.”

My father narrated to us. He said: Al-Hasan b. Ahmad al-Maliki narrated to us. He said: Mansur b. al-`Abbas narrated to us from Muhammad b. Abi `Umayr from Hisham b. Salim from Zayd al-Shahham from Abi `Abdillah al-Sadiq . He said: Whoever recites qul huwallahu ahad sixty times in the first two units of the night prayer (salat al-layl) – thirty times in each unit – he will be left with no sins between him and Allah.

Ahmad b. Muhammad b. Yahya al-`Attar narrated to us. He said: Sa`d b. `Abdullah narrated to us from Salama b. al-Khattab from Ayyub b. Sulaym al-`Attar from Ishaq b. Bishr al-Kahili from Salim al-Aftas from Sa`id b. Jubayr from Ibn `Abbas. He said: The Messenger of Allah (s) said: He who enters the market, buys a gift, and brings it to his family is like one who brings charity to a needy people. He should start with the females before the males, for he who gladdens his daughter is like one who frees a slave from the Children of Isma`il. He who gladdens the eye of his son is like one who weeps out of humility before Allah; and whoever weeps out of humility before Allah, Allah will enter him into the Paradise of Bliss.

Ali b. `Isa narrated to us. He said: `Ali b. Muhammad Majiluwayh narrated to us from Ahmad b. Abi `Abdillah al-Barqi from his father from Wahb b. Wahb al-Qurashi from al-Sadiq Ja`far b. Muhammad from his father from his grandfather . He said: The Messenger of Allah (s) said: Surely, Gabriel informed me of something that gladdened my eye and brought happiness to my heart. He said: “O Muhammad! Whoever from your Nation goes to war in the cause of Allah, no drop from the sky and no headache will afflict him except that it will be [counted] as [a reward for] martyrdom for him on the Day of Resurrection.”

By this isnad. The Messenger of Allah (s) said: In Paradise there is a gate called “the Gate of the Strivers (bab al-mujahidin).” They will go to it. When it is open, they will be armed with their swords, and they will be gathered at the stand while the angels welcome them. Whoever abandons jihad, Allah will gown him in humiliation from himself, poverty in his livelihood, and the effacement of his religion. Surely, Allah has given glory to my Nation through the hooves of horses and the posts of spears.

By its isnad. He said: The Messenger of Allah (s) said: He who informs [the Muslims] of an attack is like one who has freed a slave.

Ja`far b. `Ali b. al-Hasan al-Kufi narrated to us. He said: My grandfather al-Hasan b. `Ali narrated to me from his grandfather `Abdullah b. al-Mughira from Isma`il b. Muslim al-Sukuni from al-Sadiq Ja`far b. Muhammad from his father . He said: The Messenger of Allah (s) said: The horses of conquerors will be in Paradise.

Muhammad b. `Ali Majiluwayh narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. Yahya al-`Attar narrated to us from Muhammad b. Ahmad b. Yahya b. `Imran al-Ash`ari from Muhammad b. Isma`il from `Ali b. al-Hakam from `Umar b. Aban from Abi `Abdillah al-Sadiq from his forefathers . He said: The Messenger of Allah (s) said: Goodness, all of it, is in the sword and beneath the shade of the sword. The people cannot be adjusted except by the sword. The swords are the keys to Paradise and the Fire.

Al-Husayn b. Ahmad b. Idris narrated to us. He said: Al-Husayn b. Ishaq al-Tajir narrated to us from `Ali b. Mahziyar from Fadala b. Ayyub from Isma`il b. Abi Ziyad from Abi `Abdillah al-Sadiq from his forefathers . He said: The Messenger of Allah (s) said: Whoever wishes for a thing whilst being pleased with Allah will not leave this world until he is granted it.

My father narrated to us. He said: Sa`d b. `Abdullah narrated to us from Ahmad b. Muhammad b. `Isa from al-Hasan b. Mahbub from Malik b. Atiyya from Sa`id al-A`raj from Abi `Abdillah Ja`far b. Muhammad . He said: From the firmest bonds of faith is to love for Allah, hate for Allah, give for Allah, and prevent for Allah.

Al-Husayn b. Ibrahim b. Natana narrated to us. He said: `Ali b. Ibrahim narrated to us from his father from Muhammad b. Abi `Umayr from Sayf b. `Umayra from `Abd al-Rahman b. Salama from Abi Ishaq from al-Harith from `Ali . He said: Whoever says, “Glory be to Allah when you sleep and when you wake. All praise is His in the heavens and the Earth, at night and at midday” (30:17-18) three times when he goes to sleep, the goodness of that night will not avert him, and its evil will be repelled from him. Whoever says this when he wakes, the goodness of that day will not avert him, and its evil will be repelled from him.

Muhammad b. al-Hasan b. Ahmad b. al-Walid narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. al-Hasan al-Saffar narrated to us from al-`Abbas b. Ma`ruf from `Ali b. Mahziyar from `Amr b. `Uthman from al-Mufaddal b. `Umar from Jabir from Abi Ja`far al-Baqir . He said: The Messenger of Allah (s) said: An angel descends with a scroll at the beginning of the day and at the beginning of the night. It writes the deeds of the Children of Adam. So, hope for goodness in its beginning and in its end, and Allah will surely forgive you for what is in between – God-willingly. Allah says, “Remember Me, and I will remember you.” (2:152), and He says, “And the remembrance of Allah is greater.” (29:45)

Ja`far b. Muhammad b. Masrur narrated to us. He said: Al-Husayn b. Muhammad b. `Amer narrated to us from his uncle `Abdullah b. `Amer from Muhammad b. Abi `Umayr from Abi Harun al-Makfuf from Abi `Abdillah al-Sadiq . He said: O Aba Harun! Surely, we instruct our children to recite Tasbih Fatima just as we instruct them to pray. So, cling to it, for no wretched worshiper clings to it.

By this isnad from Muhammad b. Abi `Umayr from Aban b. `Uthman from Muhammad b. Sa`id from `Atiyya al-`Awfi from Abi Sa`id al-Khudri from the Prophet (s). He said: Whoever says: “in the name of Allah (bismillah)” when he leaves his house, the two angels say: “You have been guided.” When he says: “there is no ability nor power except by Allah (la hawla wala quwwata illa billah)”, they say: “You have been safeguarded.” When he says: “I rely on Allah (tawakkaltu `alallah)”, they say: “You have been sufficed.” Then, Satan will say: “How could I handle a worshiper who is guided, safeguarded, and sufficed?!”

By this isnad from Muhammad b. Abi `Umayr from `Abdullah b. Sinan from Abi `Abdillah al-Sadiq . He said: The Messenger of Allah (s) said one day to `Ali : Shall I not give you glad tidings? So, he said: Of course, may my mother and my father be your sacrifice. Surely, you do not stop giving glad tidings with every good thing. So, he said: Gabriel informed me of something astonishing. So, `Ali said to him: What did he inform you of, O Messenger of Allah? He said: He informed me that, when a man from my Nation blesses me and follows it up with blessing my Ahl al-Bayt, the gates of heaven open for him, and the angels bless him seventy times. If he is an erring sinner, the sins will shed from him just as leaves shed from a tree. Furthermore, Allah says: “I am at your service, My servant”; and Allah says to His angels: “O My angels! You bless him seventy times, and I bless him seven hundred times.” If he blesses me without following it up with blessing my Ahl al-Bayt, there will be seventy veils between him and heaven; and Allah will say: “I am not at your service. O angels! Do not bring up his supplications until he follows the Prophet up with his progeny [in blessing].” So, it will remain suspended until he follows me up with my Ahl al-Bayt.

By this isnad from Muhammad b. Abi `Umayr from al-Mufaddal b. Salih al-Asadi from Muhammad b. Harun from Abi `Abdillah al-Sadiq . He said: If one of you prays without mentioning the Prophet (s), then he treads a path other than the way to Paradise with his prayer.

He said: And the Messenger of Allah (s) said: Whoever does not bless me when I am mentioned in his presence will enter the Fire. Allah will have detached him from His mercy.

`Ali b. Ahmad b. Musa narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. Ja`far Abu'l Husayn al-Kufi al-Asadi narrated to us. He said: Musa b. `Imran al-Nakha`i narrated to us. He said: Al-Husayn b. Yazid narrated to me. He said: Hafs b. Ghiyath narrated to me from Ja`far b. Muhammad from his forefathers from `Ali . He said: The Messenger of Allah (s) said: Four people harm the people of the Fire due to the way they are being harmed. They will be feeding from the boiling water and Hell, calling out to one another in woe and punishment. The people of the Fire will say to one another: “What is with these four who harm us on top of what we are already being harmed by?” One will be attached to a coffin of embers, one will have his intestines dragging, one vomits pus and blood, and one will be eating his own flesh. So, it will be said to the companion of the coffin: “What did the further one do for him to harm us on top of what we are already being harmed by?” So, he will say: “The further one died whilst he had the wealth of the people on his neck (debt). He did not find it in himself to pay it or fulfil it.” Then, it will be said to the one with his intestines dragging: “What did the further one do for him to harm us on top of what we are already being harmed by?” So, he will say: “The further one did not care (purify) where urine was on his body.” Then, it will be said to the one vomiting pus and blood: “What did the further one do for him to harm us on top of what we are already being harmed by?” So, he will say: “The further one would mimic. He would look to every filthy word, then support it and mimic it.” Then, it will be said to the one eating his own flesh: “What did the further one do for him to harm us on top of what we are already being harmed by?” So, he will say: “The further one would eat the flesh of the people through backbiting and gossip.”

By this isnad. He said: The Messenger of Allah (s) said: He who commends his believing brother to his face but backbites him when he is away shall have the protection (`isma) between them cut away.

Ahmad b. Harun al-Fami narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. `Abdullah b. Ja`far al-Himyari narrated to us from his father from Harun b. Muslim from Mas`ada b. Ziyad from al-Sadiq Ja`far b. Muhammad from his father . The Messenger of Allah (s) was asked: In what is our salvation anon? So, he said: Surely, salvation is in not [trying] to deceive Allah, lest He deceive you. Whoever deceives Allah, Allah will deceive him and strip faith from him – he deceives himself, if he but knew. So, it was said to him: How could he deceive Allah? He said: He does what Allah commands, but he does it for other than Him. So, fear Allah, and avoid flaunting (riya’), for it is associating partners with Allah (shirk billah). Surely, the flaunter will be called by four names on the Day of Resurrection: “O disbeliever, O transgressor, O treacherous, O loser! Your deeds have fallen, and your reward has been nullified. There will be no reward for you today.” So, seek your reward from Him that you are working for.

`Ali b. al-Husayn b. Shadhuwayh narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. `Abdullah b. Ja`far al-Himyari narrated to us from his father from Ahmad b. Muhammad b. `Isa from al-`Abbas b. Ma`ruf from `Ali b. al-Hakam from Mundal b. `Ali al-`Anzi from Muhammad b. Mutraf from Masma` from al-Asbagh b. Nubata from `Ali . He said: The Messenger of Allah (s) said: When Allah is angry with a nation and does not descend chastisement upon it, its prices increase, its life will be shortened, its merchants will not make a profit, its fruits will not ripen, its rivers will not be bounteous, its rain will be upheld from it, and its evil people will rule over it.

By this isnad from Ahmad b. Muhammad b. `Isa from Muhammad b. Sinan from Muhammad b. `Abdullah b. Zurara from `Isa b. `Abdullah al-Hashimi from his father from his grandfather from `Umar b. Abi Salama from his mother Umm Salama . She said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (s) say: `Ali b. Abi Talib and the Imams from his descendants after me are the masters of the people of Earth and the Leaders of the shining believers on the Day of Resurrection.

Ahmad b. al-Hasan al-Qattan narrated to us. He said: Ahmad b. Yahya b. Zakariyya al-Qattan narrated to us. He said: Bakr b. `Abdullah b. Habib narrated to us. He said: Tamim b. Bahlul narrated to us. He said: `Abdullah b. Salih b. Abi Salama al-Nusaybi narrated to us. He said: Abu `Awana from Abi Bishr narrated to us from Sa`id b. Jubayr from `A’isha. She said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (s) say: I am the master of the former and the latter peoples. `Ali b. Abi Talib is the Master of Deputies. He is my brother, my inheritor, and my vicegerent (khalifa) over my Nation. His wilaya is obligatory. Following him is a virtue. Loving him is a way to Allah. His party is the Party of Allah, his Shi`a are the supporters of Allah, his friends are the friends of Allah, and his enemies are the enemies of Allah. He is the Imam of the Muslims, the Master of the Believers and their emir after me.

Ahmad b. `Ali b. Ibrahim b. Hashim narrated to us. He said: My father narrated to us from his father from Muhammad b. `Ali al-Tamimi. He said: My master `Ali b. Musa al-Rida narrated to me from his father from his forefathers from the Prophet (s). He said: Whoever would be gladdened by seeing the red pole planted by Allah by His hand, and be of those who grasp onto it, should align with `Ali and the Imams from his descendants, for they are the choicest of Allah and His elite ones. They are immaculate (ma`sum) from every sin and error.

`Ali b. Muhammad b. al-Hasan al-Qazwini Abu’l Hasan known as Ibn Maqbara narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. `Abdullah b. `Amer narrated to us. He said: `Asim b. Yusuf narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. Ayyub al-Kilabi narrated to us. He said: `Amr b. Sulayman narrated to us from Zayd b. Thabit. He said: The Messenger of Allah (s) said: Whoever loves `Ali in his life and after his death, Allah shall safeguard him from everything that the Sun rises and sets upon. He who hates him in his life and after his death shall die the death of Jahiliyya and be held accountable for what he did.

Al-Husayn b. Ibrahim b. Ahmad b. Hisham al-Mu’addab narrated to us. He said: Ahmad b. Yahya b. Zakariyya al-Qattan narrated to us. He said: Bakr b. `Abdullah b. Habib narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. `Ubaydullah narrated to me. He said: `Ali b. al-Hakam narrated to us from Hisham from Abi Hamza al-Thumali from Abi Ja`far Muhammad b. `Ali al-Baqir from his forefathers . He said: The Messenger of Allah (s) said to `Ali : O `Ali! Your love will not settle in the heart of a believing person except that his feet will be settled upon the Path until Allah enters him into Paradise by your love.
