`Ali b. al-Husayn b. Shadhuwayh narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. `Abdullah b. Ja`far al-Himyari narrated to us from his father from Ahmad b. Muhammad b. `Isa from al-`Abbas b. Ma`ruf from `Ali b. al-Hakam from Mundal b. `Ali al-`Anzi from Muhammad b. Mutraf from Masma` from al-Asbagh b. Nubata from `Ali . He said:

The Messenger of Allah (s) said: When Allah is angry with a nation and does not descend chastisement upon it, its prices increase, its life will be shortened, its merchants will not make a profit, its fruits will not ripen, its rivers will not be bounteous, its rain will be upheld from it, and its evil people will rule over it.
