Ahmad b. Muhammad b. Yahya al-`Attar narrated to us. He said: Sa`d b. `Abdullah narrated to us from Salama b. al-Khattab from Ayyub b. Sulaym al-`Attar from Ishaq b. Bishr al-Kahili from Salim al-Aftas from Sa`id b. Jubayr from Ibn `Abbas. He said:

The Messenger of Allah (s) said: He who enters the market, buys a gift, and brings it to his family is like one who brings charity to a needy people. He should start with the females before the males, for he who gladdens his daughter is like one who frees a slave from the Children of Isma`il. He who gladdens the eye of his son is like one who weeps out of humility before Allah; and whoever weeps out of humility before Allah, Allah will enter him into the Paradise of Bliss.
