Muhammad b. al-Hasan b. Ahmad b. al-Walid narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. al-Hasan al-Saffar narrated to us from al-`Abbas b. Ma`ruf from `Ali b. Mahziyar from `Amr b. `Uthman from al-Mufaddal b. `Umar from Jabir from Abi Ja`far al-Baqir . He said: The Messenger of Allah (s) said:

An angel descends with a scroll at the beginning of the day and at the beginning of the night. It writes the deeds of the Children of Adam. So, hope for goodness in its beginning and in its end, and Allah will surely forgive you for what is in between – God-willingly. Allah says, “Remember Me, and I will remember you.” (2:152), and He says, “And the remembrance of Allah is greater.” (29:45)
