1 - حدثنا الشيخ الجليل أبو جعفر محمد بن علي بن الحسين بن موسى ابن بابويه القمي (رضي الله عنه)، قال: حدثنا أبي (رحمه الله)، قال: حدثنا سعد بن عبد الله، قال: حدثنا محمد بن الحسين بن أبي الخطاب، قال: حدثنا علي بن أسباط، قال سمعت علي بن موسى الرضا (عليه السلام) يحدث عن أبيه عن آبائه (عليهم السلام) أن رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله) قال: لم يبق من أمثال الانبياء إلا قول الناس: إذا لم تستحي فاصنع ما شئت (1).

Abu Ja`far Muhammad b. `Ali b. al-Husayn b. Musa b. Babuwayh al-Qummi (ra) narrated to us. He said: My father (rh) narrated to us. He said: Sa`d b. `Abdullah narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. al-Husayn b. Abi’l Khattab narrated to us. He said: `Ali b. Asbat narrated to us. He said: I heard `Ali b. Musa al-Rida (as) narrate from his father from his forefathers (as) that the Messenger of Allah (s) said: None of the proverbs of the prophets remain except the saying of the people: “If you feel no shame, then do what you wish.”

2 - حدثنا محمد بن الحسن بن أحمد بن الوليد (رحمه الله)، قال: حدثنا محمد بن الحسن الصفار، عن يعقوب بن يزيد، عن محمد بن أبي عمير، عن هشام بن سالم، قال: قال أبو عبد الله (عليه السلام) إن قوما أتوا نبيا لهم فقالوا: أدع لنا ربك (2) يرفع عنا الموت، فدعا لهم فرفع الله تبارك وتعالى عنهم الموت، وكثروا حتى ضاقت بهم المنازل، وكثر النسل، وكان الرجل يصبح فيحتاج أن يطعم أباه وأمه وجده وجد جده  ويوضيهم ويتعاهدهم، فشغلوا عن طلب المعاش، فأتوه فقالوا: سل ربك أن يردنا إلى آجالنا التي كنا عليها، فسأل ربه عز وجل فردهم إلى آجالهم (1).

أبو عبد الله عليه السلام

Muhammad b. al-Hasan b. Ahmad b. al-Walid (rh) narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. al-Hasan al-Saffar narrated to us from Ya`qub b. Yazid from Muhammad b. Abi `Umayr from Hisham b. Salim. He said: Abu `Abdillah (as) said: A community went to a prophet of theirs and said: Ask your Lord to alleviate us from death. So, he asked on their behalf, and Allah alleviated them from death. They multiplied until their homes became narrow for them. The lineages proliferated. A man would wake up and he would need to feed his father, his mother, his grandfather, his grandfather’s grandfather, and take care of them. They became too busy to seek a livelihood. So, they went to him and said: Ask your Lord to return death to us. So, he asked his Lord, and death returned to them.

3 - حدثنا محمد بن موسى بن المتوكل (رضي الله عنه)، قال: حدثنا علي بن الحسين السعد آبادي، عن أحمد بن أبي عبد الله البرقي، عن أبيه محمد بن خالد، عن أحمد بن النضر، عن محمد بن مروان، عن محمد بن السائب، عن أبي صالح، عن عبد الله بن عباس، في قوله عز وجل: (فلما أفاق قال سبحانك تبت إليك وأنا أول المؤمنين) (2) قال: يقول: سبحانك تبت إليك من أن أسألك رؤية وأنا أول المؤمنين بأنك لا ترى (3).

Muhammad b. Musa b. al-Mutawakkil (ra) narrated to us. He said: `Ali b. al-Husayn al-Sa`d Abadi narrated to us from Ahmad b. Abi `Abdillah al-Barqi from his father Muhammad b. Khalid from Ahmad b. al-Nadr from Muhammad b. Marwan from Muhammad b. al-Sa’ib from Abi Salih from `Abdullah b. `Abbas. Regarding His saying, “When he recovered, he cried, ‘Glory be to You! I turn to You in repentance and I am the first of the believers’” (7:143) he said: Glory be to You, I repent to You for asking to see You. I am the first of the believers that You cannot be seen.

4 - حدثنا جعفر بن محمد بن مسرور، قال: حدثنا الحسين بن محمد بن عامر، عن عمه عبد الله بن عامر، عن الحسن بن محبوب، عن مقاتل بن سليمان، قال: قال أبو عبد الله (عليه السلام): لما صعد موسى (عليه السلام) إلى الطور فناجى ربه عز وجل قال: يا رب أرني خزائنك. قال: يا موسى، إنما خزائني إذا أردت شيئا أن أقول له كن فيكون (4).

Ja`far b. Muhammad b. Masrur narrated to us. He said: Al-Husayn b. Muhammad b. `Amer narrated to us from his uncle `Abdullah b. `Amer from al-Hasan b. Mahbub from Muqatil b. Sulayman. He said: Abu `Abdillah (as) said: When Musa (as) climbed Tur and his Lord whispered to him, he said: O Lord! Show me your treasure. He said: O Musa! Surely, My treasure is that, when I will a thing, I say to it “be!” and it is.

5 - حدثنا محمد بن علي ماجيلويه (رضي الله عنه)، قال: حدثنا محمد بن يحيى العطار، عن الحسن بن الحسين بن أبان، عن محمد بن أورمة، عن عمرو بن عثمان الخزاز، عن عمرو بن شمر، عن جابر بن يزيد الجعفي، عن أبي جعفر محمد ابن علي الباقر (عليه السلام)، قال: قال موسى بن عمران: يا رب أوصني. قال: أوصيك بي. فقال: يا رب أوصني، قال: أوصيك بي، ثلاثا. قال يا رب أوصني. قال: اوصيك بأمك. قال: يا رب أوصني. قال: أوصيك بأمك. قال: يا رب أوصني. قال: أوصيك بأبيك.  قال: فكان يقال لاجل ذلك، إن للام ثلثي البر، وللاب الثلث (1).

Muhammad b. `Ali Majiluwayh (ra) narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. Yahya al-`Attar narrated to us from al-Hasan b. al-Husayn b. Aban from Muhammad b. Awrama from `Amr b. `Uthman al-Khazzaz from `Amr b. Shimr from Jabir b. Yazid al-Ju`fi from Abi Ja`far Muhammad b. `Ali al-Baqir (as). He said: Musa b. `Imran said: O Lord! Admonish me. He said: I admonish you of [your duty to] Me. So, he said: O Lord! Admonish me. He said: I admonish you of Me – three times. He said: O Lord! Admonish me. He said: I admonish you of your mother. He said: O Lord! Admonish me. He said: I admonish you of your mother. He said: O Lord! Admonish me. He said: I admonish you of your father. He said: He said, to that ends, that one third of righteousness is for the mother, and one third of righteousness is for the father.

6 - حدثنا علي بن أحمد بن عبد الله بن أحمد بن أبي عبد الله البرقي (رضي الله عنه)، قال حدثنا أبي، عن جده أحمد بن أبي عبد الله، عن محمد بن علي الكوفي، عن أبي عبد الله الخياط، عن عبد الله بن القاسم، عن عبد الله بن سنان، عن أبي عبد الله الصادق (عليه السلام)، قال: كان فيما أوحى الله عز وجل إلى موسى بن عمران (عليه السلام): يا موسى، كن خلق الثوب (2)، نقي القلب، حلس (3) البيت، مصباح الليل، تعرف في أهل السماء، وتخفى على أهل الارض. يا موسى، إياك واللجاجة، ولا تكن من المشائين في غير حاجة، ولا تضحك من غير عجب، وابك على خطيئتك يا بن عمران (4).

`Ali b. Ahmad b. `Abdullah b. Ahmad b. Abi `Abdillah al-Barqi (ra) narrated to us. He said: My father narrated to us from his grandfather Ahmad b. Abi `Abdillah from Muhammad b. `Ali al-Kufi from Abi `Abdillah al-Khayyat from `Abdullah b. al-Qasim from `Abdullah b. Sinan from Abi `Abdillah al-Sadiq (as). He said: Among that which Allah revealed to Musa b. `Imran (as) is: Be [like] a worn-out robe, pure of heart, reclusive in your house, and a lantern in the night, and you will be known to the people of heaven and hidden from the people of Earth. O Musa! Beware of being insistent, and do not be of those who walk without purpose, and do not laugh without astonishment. Weep over your mistakes, O son of `Imran.

7 - حدثنا أحمد بن زياد بن جعفر الهمداني (رحمه الله)، قال: حدثنا علي بن إبراهيم، عن أبيه إبراهيم بن هاشم، عن علي بن الحكم، عن هشام بن سالم، عن الصادق جعفر بن محمد (عليه السلام)، قال: عاش نوح (عليه السلام) ألفي سنة وخسمائة سنة، منها ثمانمائة وخمسون سنة قبل أن يبعث، وألف سنة إلا خمسين عاما وهو في قومه يدعوهم، ومائتا سنة في عمل السفينة، وخمسمائة عام بعد ما نزل من السفينة ونضب الماء، فمصر الامصار، وأسكن ولده البلدان، ثم إن ملك الموت جاءه وهو في الشمس، فقال: السلام عليك. فرد عليه نوح، وقال له: ما جاء بك يا ملك الموت، فقال: جئت لاقبض روحك، فقال له: تدعني أدخل من الشمس إلى الظل؟ فقال له: نعم. فتحول نوح (عليه السلام) من الشمس إلى الظل، ثم قال: يا ملك الموت، فكأن ما مر بي في الدنيا مثل تحولي من الشمس، إلى الظل، فامض لما أمرت به. قال: فقبض  روحه (عليه السلام) (1).

Ahmad b. Ziyad b. Ja`far al-Hamadani (rh) narrated to us. He said: `Ali b. Ibrahim narrated to us from his father Ibrahim b. Hashim from `Ali b. al-Hakam from Hisham b. Salim from al-Sadiq Ja`far b. Muhammad (as). He said: Nuh (as) lived for two thousand five hundred years. From them, he lived eight hundred and fifty years before he was commissioned, and he called to his community for nine hundred and fifty years, and he lived seven hundred years after disembarking from the Ark – and the water dried from region to region – and his descendants settled in the countries. Then, the Angel of Death came to him while he was in the sun, so he said to him: Peace be with you. So, Nuh replied. Then, he said: What has brought you here, O Angel of Death? So, he said: I have come to take your soul. He said: Will you allow me to move from the sun to the shade? So, he said: Yes. So, Nuh (as) moved from the sun to the shade. Then, he said: O Angel of Death! My time in this world is like my movement from the sun to the shade; now do what you were commanded to do. He said: So, he took his (as) soul.

8 - حدثنا أحمد بن محمد بن يحيى العطار (رضي الله عنه)، قال: حدثنا أبي، عن أحمد بن أبي عبد الله، عن محمد بن علي الكوفي، عن شريف بن سابق التفليسي، عن إبراهيم بن محمد، عن الصادق جعفر بن محمد، عن أبيه، عن آبائه (عليهم السلام)، قال: قال رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله): مر عيسى بن مريم (عليه السلام) بقبر يعذب صاحبه، ثم مر به من قابل فإذا هو ليس يعذب فقال: يا رب، مررت بهذا القبر عام أول، فكان صاحبه يعذب، ثم مررت به العام فإذا هو ليس يعذب! فأوحى الله عز وجل إليه: يا روح الله، إنه أدرك له ولد صالح، فأصلح طريقا، وآوى يتيما، فغفرت له بما عمل ابنه. قال: وقال عيسى بن مريم (عليه السلام) ليحيى بن زكريا (عليه السلام): إذا قيل فيك ما فيك، فاعلم أنه ذنب ذكرته فاستغفر الله منه، وإن قيل فيك ما ليس فيك، فاعلم أنه حسنة كتبت لك لم تتعب فيها (2).

عن أبيه ع عن آبائه ع قال قال

Ahmad b. Muhammad b. Yahya al-`Attar (ra) narrated to us. He said: My father narrated to us from Ahmad b. Abi `Abdillah from Muhammad b. `Ali al-Kufi from Sharif b. Sabiq al-Taflisi from Ibrahim b. Muhammad from al-Sadiq Ja`far b. Muhammad from his father from his forefathers (as). He said: The Messenger of Allah (s) said: `Isa b. Maryam (as) passed by a grave whose occupant was being punished. Then, he passed by it again the following year, and he was not being punished. So, he said: “O Lord! I passed by this grave last year, and its occupant was being punished. Then, I passed by it this year, and I found that he was not being punished.” So, Allah revealed to him: “O Spirit of Allah! He has a righteous son who rectified a path and sheltered an orphan, so he was forgiven due to what his son had done.” He said: `Isa b. Maryam (as) said to Yahya b. Zakariyya (as): If something true [of evil] is said about you, then know that it is a sin, so ask for Allah’s forgiveness for it. If something false is said about you, then know that a good deed will be recorded for you without needing to toil for it.

9 - حدثنا الحسين بن أحمد بن إدريس (رضي الله عنه)، قال: حدثنا أبي، قال: حدثنا أحمد بن محمد بن خالد، عن أبيه، عن خلف بن حماد، عن أبي الحسن العبدي، عن سليمان بن مهران، عن أبي إسحاق، عن عمرو بن حبشي، عن الحسن ابن علي بن أبي طالب (عليه السلام)، قال: ما قدمت راية قوتل تحتها أمير المؤمنين (عليه السلام) إلا نكسها الله تبارك وتعالى وغلب أصحابها وانقلبوا صاغرين، وما ضرب أمير المؤمنين (عليه السلام) بسيفه ذي الفقار أحدا فنجا، وكان إذا قاتل قاتل جبرئيل عن يمينه، وميكائيل عن يساره، وملك الموت بين يديه (3).

Al-Husayn b. Ahmad b. Idris (ra) narrated to us. He said: My father narrated to us. He said: Ahmad b. Muhammad b. Khalid narrated to us from his father from Khalaf b. Hammad from Abi’l Hasan al-`Abdi from Sulayman b. Mehran from Abi Ishaq from `Amr b. Habashi from al-Hasan b. `Ali b. Abi Talib (as). He said: No banner proceeded to battle against Amir al-Mu’minin (as) except that Allah defeated it [through him] and made him triumphant over its companions and made them turn back in shame. None struck by Amir al-Mu’minin’s sword, the dhulfiqar, prevailed. When he would fight, Gabriel would fight on his right side, Michael would be on his left side, and the Angel of Death would be in front of him.

10 - حدثنا أحمد بن محمد بن صقر الصائغ، قال: حدثنا محمد بن  العباس بن بسام، قال: حدثنا محمد بن خالد بن إبراهيم، قال: حدثنا سويد بن عبد العزيز الدمشقي، عن عبد الله بن لهيعة، عن أبي قبيل، عن عبد الله بن عمر وبن العاص، قال: إن رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله) دفع الراية يوم خيبر إلى رجل من أصحابه فرجع منهزما، فدفعها إلى آخر فرجع يجبن أصحابه ويجبنونه، قد رد الراية منهزما، فقال رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله): لاعطين الراية غدا رجلا يحب الله ورسوله ويحبه الله ورسوله، لا يرجع حتى يفتح الله على يديه فلما أصبح قال: ادعوا لي عليا. فقيل له: يا رسول الله، هو رمد. فقال: ادعوه. فلما جاء تفل رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله) في عينيه، وقال: اللهم ادفع عنه الحر والبرد. ثم دفع الراية إليه ومضى، فما رجع إلى رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله) إلا بفتح خيبر. ثم قال: إنه لما دنا من القموص (1) أقبل أعداء الله من اليهود يرمونه بالنبل والحجارة، فحمل عليهم علي (عليه السلام) حتى دنا من الباب، فثنى رجله (2)، ثم نزل مغضبا إلى أصل عتبة الباب فاقتلعه، ثم رمى به خلف ظهره أربعين ذراعا. قال ابن عمر: وما عجبنا من فتح الله خيبر على يدي علي (عليه السلام)، ولكنا عجبنا من قلعه الباب ورميه خلفه أربعين ذراعا، ولقد تكلف حمله أربعون رجلا فما أطاقوه، فأخبر النبي (صلى الله عليه وآله) بذلك فقال: والذي نفسي بيده لقد أعانه عليه أربعون ملكا (3).
