Muhammad b. al-Hasan b. Ahmad b. al-Walid narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. al-Hasan al-Saffar narrated to us from Ya`qub b. Yazid from Muhammad b. Abi `Umayr from Hisham b. Salim. He said: Abu `Abdillah said:

A community went to a prophet of theirs and said: Ask your Lord to alleviate us from death. So, he asked on their behalf, and Allah alleviated them from death. They multiplied until their homes became narrow for them. The lineages proliferated. A man would wake up and he would need to feed his father, his mother, his grandfather, his grandfather’s grandfather, and take care of them. They became too busy to seek a livelihood. So, they went to him and said: Ask your Lord to return death to us. So, he asked his Lord, and death returned to them.
