1 - حدثنا الشيخ الجليل أبو جعفر محمد بن علي بن الحسين بن موسى ابن بابويه القمي (رضي الله عنه)، قال: حدثنا محمد بن القاسم الاستر آبادي (رحمه الله)، قال: حدثنا عبد الملك بن أحمد بن هارون، قال: حدثنا عمار بن رجاء، قال: حدثنا يزيد ابن هارون، قال: أخبرنا محمد بن عمرو، عن أبي سلمة، عن أبي هريرة: أن رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله) جاءه رجل، فقال: يا رسول الله، أما رأيت فلانا ركب البحر ببضاعة يسيرة وخرج إلى الصين، فأسرع الكرة، وأعظم الغنيمة حتى قد حسده أهل وده، وأوسع قراباته وجيرانه؟ فقال رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله): إن مال الدنيا كلما ازداد كثرة وعظما، ازداد صاحبه بلاء، فلا تغبطوا أصحاب الاموال إلا بمن جاد بماله في سبيل الله، ولكن ألا أخبركم بمن هو أقل من صاحبكم بضاعة، وأسرع منه كرة، وأعظم منه غنيمة، وما أعد له من الخيرات محفوظ له في خزائن عرش الرحمن؟ قالوا: بلى، يا رسول الله. فقال رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله): انظروا إلى هذا المقبل إليكم. فنظرنا فإذا رجل من الانصار رث الهيئة، فقال رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله): إن هذا لقد صعد له في هذا اليوم إلى العلو من الخيرات والطاعات ما لو قسم على جميع أهل السماوات والارض،  لكان نصيب أقلهم منه غفران ذنوبه ووجوب الجنة له. قالوا: بماذا، يا رسول الله؟ فقال: سلوه يخبركم عما صنع في هذا اليوم. فأقبل عليه أصحاب رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله)، وقالوا له: هنيئا لك بما بشرك به رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله)، فماذا صنعت في يومك هذا حتى كتب لك ما كتب؟ فقال الرجل: ما أعلم أني صنعت شيئا غير أني خرجت من بيتي، وأردت حاجة كنت أبطأت عنها، فخشيت أن تكون فاتتني، فقلت في نفسي لاعتاضن منها النظر إلى وجه علي بن أبي طالب (عليه السلام)، فقد سمعت رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله) يقول: النظر إلى وجه علي عبادة. فقال رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله): إي والله عبادة، وأي عبادة! إنك - يا عبد الله - ذهبت تبتغي أن تكتسب دينارا لقوت عيالك ففاتك ذلك، فاعتضت منه النظر إلى وجه علي، وأنت له محب، ولفضله معتقد، وذلك خير لك من أن لو كانت الدنيا كلها لك ذهبة حمراء فأنفقتها في سبيل الله، ولتشفعن بعدد كل نفس تنفسته في مصيرك إليه في ألف رقبة يعتقهم الله من النار بشفاعتك (1).

Abu Ja`far Muhammad b. `Ali b. al-Husayn b. Musa b. Babuwayh al-Qummi (ra) narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. al-Qasim al-Astarabadi (rh) narrated to us. He said: `Abd al-Malik b. Ahmad b. Harun narrated to us. He said: `Ammar b. Raja’ narrated to us. He said: Yazid b. Harun narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. `Amr informed us from Abi Salama from Abi Hurayra. He said: `Ammar b. Raja’ narrated to us. He said: Yazid b. Harun narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. `Amr informed us from Abi Salama from Abi Hurayra. A man came to the Messenger of Allah (s) and said: O Messenger of Allah! Did you see how so-and-so travelled the sea with just a few things, went to China, went quickly around the globe, and returned with great spoils, so much so that his relatives envied him, so it was distributed among his relatives and his neighbours? So, the Messenger of Allah (s) said: Surely, whenever the wealth of this world increases in quantity and greatness, its owner increases in trial. So, do not glamourize the people of wealth, except for one who is generous with his wealth in the way of Allah. However, shall I not inform you of one who carries even fewer things than your companion, who travels faster than him, who has greater spoils, and who has goodly things preserved for him in the treasuries of the Throne of the Merciful? They said: Of course, O Messenger of Allah. So, the Messenger of Allah (s) said: Look to the one who is coming toward you. So, they looked, and they found a man from the Ansar with a shabby appearance. So, the Messenger of Allah (s) said: Today, this person has climbed to the highest of goodness and obedience – if you were to divide it among the people of the heavens and the Earth, then the least of them would still have had his sins forgiven and Paradise would be obligatory for him. They said: Why, O Messenger of Allah? So, he said: Ask him to inform you of what he did today. So, the companions of the Messenger of Allah (s) went to him and said to him: Congratulations to you over the glad tidings that the Messenger of Allah has given regarding you. What have you done today so that such can be recorded for you? So, the man said: I do not know what I did [special] today, except that I left my house seeking a need that I have been slow with. I feared that I had missed out on it, so I said to myself, “I will make up for it by looking at the face of `Ali b. Abi Talib (as)”, for I have heard the Messenger of Allah (s) say: “Looking at the face of `Ali is worship.” So, the Messenger of Allah (s) said: Yes, by Allah, it is worship, yes, it is worship! O servant of Allah! You went out to gain a gold coin to support your family, but you missed out on that. So, you made up for it by looking at the face of `Ali. You are a lover of him, and you believe in his virtue. That is better for you than having the whole world in pure gold and spending it in the way of Allah. You will be able to intercede for every breath that you take, and Allah will free one thousand people from the Fire through your intercession.

Muhammad b. Bukran al-Niqash (ra) narrated to us. He said: Ahmad b. Muhammad b. Sa`id al-Kufi the servant of Bani Hashim narrated to us. He said: Al-Mundhir b. Muhammad narrated to me. He said: My father narrated to me. He said: Muhammad b. al-Husayn b. `Ali b. al-Husayn b. `Ali b. Abi Talib (as) narrated to me. He said: My father narrated to me from his father from al-Husayn b. `Ali from `Ali b. Abi Talib (as). He said: The Messenger of Allah (s) said: Betake to the gardens of Paradise. They said: What are the gardens of Paradise? He said: A circle of remembrance (dhikr).

3 - حدثنا محمد بن إبراهيم بن إسحاق (رضي الله عنه)، قال: حدثنا أبو سعيد الحسن بن علي العدوي، قال: حدثنا صهيب بن عباد بن صهيب، قال: حدثنا أبي،  قال: حدثنا الصادق جعفر بن محمد، عن آبائه، عن الحسين بن علي (علهيم السلام): أن رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله) قضى باليمين مع الشاهد الواحد، وأن عليا (عليه السلام) قضى به بالعراق (1).

Muhammad b. Ibrahim b. Ishaq (ra) narrated to us. He said: Abu Sa`id al-Hasan b. `Ali al-`Adawi narrated to us. He said: Suhayb b. `Abbad b. Suhayb narrated to us. He said: My father narrated to us. He said: Al-Sadiq Ja`far b. Muhammad narrated to us from his forefathers from al-Husayn b. `Ali (as). The Messenger of Allah (s) made adjudications with an oath and one witness, and `Ali (as) made adjudications like it in Iraq.

4 - وبهذا الاسناد، عن الصادق جعفر بن محمد، عن أبيه (عليهما السلام)، عن جابر بن عبد الله، قال: جاء جبرئيل (عليه السلام) إلى النبي (صلى الله عليه وآله) فأمره أن يأخذ باليمين مع الشاهد (2).

/ 5 - حدثنا الحسين بن علي الصوفي (رضي الله عنه)، قال: حدثنا حمزة بن القاسم، قال: حدثنا جعفر بن محمد بن مالك، قال: حدثنا محمد بن الحسن الوزان، عن يحيى بن سعيد الاهوازي، قال: حدثنا أحمد بن محمد بن أبي نصر، عن محمد ابن حمران، قال: قال الصادق جعفر بن محمد (عليهما السلام): إذا دخلت الحمام فقل في الوقت الذي تنزع ثيابك: اللهم انزع عني ربقة النفاق، وثبتني على الايمان. فإذا دخلت البيت الاول فقل: اللهم إني أعوذ بك من شر نفسي، وأستعيذ بك من أذاه. وإذا دخلت البيت الثاني فقل: اللهم أذهب عني الرجس النجس، وطهر جسدي وقلبي. وخذ من الماء الحار وضعه على هامتك، وصب منه على رجليك، وإن أمكن أن تبلع منه جرعة فافعل، فإنه ينقي المثانة، والبث في البيت الثاني ساعة، فإذا دخلت البيت الثالث فقل: نعوذ بالله من النار، ونسأله الجنة. ترددها إلى وقت خروجك من البيت الحار، وإياك وشرب الماء البارد والفقاع في الحمام فإنه يفسد المعدة، ولا تصبن عليك الماء البارد فإنه يضعف البدن، وصب الماء البارد على قدميك إذا خرجت فإنه يسل الداء من جسدك، فإذا لبست ثيابك فقل: اللهم ألبسني التقوى، وجنبني الردى، فإذا فعلت ذلك أمنت من كل داء (3).

Al-Husayn b. `Ali al-Sufi (ra) narrated to us. He said: Hamza b. al-Qasim narrated to us. He said: Ja`far b. Muhammad b. Malik narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. al-Hasan al-Wazzan narrated to us from Yahya b. Sa`id al-Ahwazi. He said: Ahmad b. Muhammad b. Abi Nasr narrated to us from Muhammad b. Hamza. He said: Al-Sadiq Ja`far b. Muhammad (as) said: When you enter the restroom, then say when you remove your clothing: “O Allah! Remove hypocrisy from me and make me steadfast upon faith (Allahummanzi` `anni ribqatul nifaq wa tathbitni `alal iman).” When you enter the first chamber, then say: “O Allah! I seek refuge in You from the evil of my self, and I seek refuge in you from its harm (Allahumma inni `a’udhu bika min sharri nafsi wasta`eedh bika min adhah).” When you enter the second chamber, then say: “O Allah! Cleanse me of impurity and purify my body and my heart (Allahummadhhab `annil rijsil najis, wa tahhir jasadi wa qalbi)”, then take hot water and put it on your hips and pour it on your legs. If you can swallow some, then do so, for that purifies the bladder. Then, wait in the second chamber for a moment. When you enter the third chamber, then say: “We seek refuge in Allah from the Fire, and we ask Him for Paradise (na`udhu billahi min an-nar, wa nas’aluhul Jannah)”. Repeat it until the moment you exit the hot chamber. Beware of drinking cold water and bubbles in the restroom, for it upsets the digestive system. Do not pour cold water over yourself, for it weakens the body. Pour cold water on your feet when you leave, for that will remove disease from your body. When you get dressed, then say: “O Allah! Dress me in God-consciousness and spare me of harm (Allahummalbisnil taqwa wa jannibnil rida)” – if you do this, you will be safe from every disease.

6 - حدثنا علي بن أحمد بن موسى (رحمه الله)، قال: حدثنا محمد بن أبي عبد الله الكوفي، عن جعفر بن محمد الفزاري، قال: حدثنا عباد بن يعقوب، قال: أخبرنا منصور بن أبي نويرة، عن أبي بكر بن عياش، عن قرن أبي سليمان الضبي (1)، قال: أرسل علي بن أبي طالب أمير المؤمنين (عليه السلام) إلى لبيد العطاردي (2) بعض شرطه، فمروا به على مسجد سماك (3)، فقام إليه نعيم بن دجاجة الاسدي، فحال بينهم وبينه، فأرسل أمير المؤمنين (عليه السلام) إلى نعيم فجئ به، قال: فرفع أمير المؤمنين (عليه السلام) شيئا ليضربه، فقال نعيم: والله إن صحبتك لذل، وإن خلافك لكفر. فقال أمير المؤمنين (عليه السلام): وتعلم ذلك؟ قال: نعم. قال: خلوه (4).

علي بن أبي طالب أمير المؤمنين عليه السلام

إلى لبيد العطاردي بعض شرطه فمروا به على مسجد سماك فقام إليه نعيم بن دجاجة الأسدي

`Ali b. Ahmad b. Musa (rh) narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. Abi `Abdillah al-Kufi narrated to us from Ja`far b. Muhammad al-Fazarani. He said: `Abbad b. Ya`qub narrated to us. He said: Mansur b. Abi Nuwayra informed us from Abi Bakr b. `Ayash from Qarn Abi Sulayman al-Dabi. He said: `Ali b. Abi Talib (as) sent some law enforcement for Lubayd al-`Ataridi. They passed by him at the Samak Mosque (in Kufa). So, Na`im b. Dajaja al-Asadi went to him and resolved [the issue] between them and him. So, Amir al-Mu’minin (as) sent for Na`im, and he was brought to him. He said: Amir al-Mu’minin (as) raised something to strike him. So, Na`im said: Surely, being your companion is humbling, but being your opponent is disbelief. So, Amir al-Mu’minin (as) said: Do you know this? He said: Yes. He said: Let him free.

7 - حدثنا أحمد بن محمد بن الصقر الصائغ، قال: حدثنا محمد بن أيوب، قال: أخبرنا إبراهيم بن موسى، قال: أخبرنا هشام بن يوسف، عن عبد الله بن سليمان النوفلي، عن محمد بن علي بن عبد الله بن عباس، عن أبيه، عن ابن عباس، قال: قال رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله): أحبوا الله لما يغذوكم به من نعمه، وأحبوني لحب الله عز وجل، وأحبوا أهل بيتي لحبي (5).

Ahmad b. Muhammad b. al-Saqr al-Sa’igh narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. Ayyub narrated to us. He said: Ibrahim b. Musa informed us. He said: Hisham b. Yusuf informed us from `Abdullah b. Sulayman al-Nawfali from Muhammad b. `Ali b. `Abdullah b. `Abbas from his father from Ibn `Abbas. He said: The Messenger of Allah (s) said: Love Allah when He nurtures you with His blessings. Love me for the sake of Allah’s love. Love my Ahl al-Bayt for the sake of my love.

8 - حدثنا أبو العباس محمد بن إبراهيم المكتب (رضي الله عنه)، قال: حدثنا أبو سعيد الحسن بن علي العدوي، قال: حدثنا الهيثم بن عبد الله، قال: حدثنا المأمون، عن أبيه الرشيد، عن المهدي، عن أبيه المنصور، عن أبيه، عن جده، عن ابن  عباس، قال: قال رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله) لعلي (عليه السلام): أنت وارثي (1).

Abu’l `Abbas Muhammad b. Ibrahim al-Mukatib (ra) narrated to us. He said: Abu Sa`id al-Hasan b. `Ali al-`Adawi narrated to us. He said: Al-Haytham b. `Abdullah narrated to us. He said: Al-Ma’mun narrated to us from his father al-Rashid from al-Mahdi from his father al-Mansur from his father from his grandfather from Ibn `Abbas. He said: The Messenger of Allah (s) said to `Ali (as): You are my inheritor.

9 - حدثنا الحسن بن محمد بن سعيد الهاشمي الكوفي، قال: حدثنا فرات بن إبراهيم بن فرات الكوفي، قال: حدثنا علي بن محمد بن الحسن اللؤلؤي، قال: حدثنا علي بن نوح الجنائي، قال: حدثني أبي، عن محمد بن مروان، عن أبي داود، عن معاذ بن سالم، عن بشر بن إبراهيم الانصاري، عن خليفة بن سليمان الجهني، عن أبي سلمة بن عبد الرحمن، عن أبي هريرة، قال: غزا النبي (صلى الله عليه وآله) غزاة، فلما رجع إلى المدينة، وكان علي (عليه السلام) تخلف على أهله، فقسم المغنم، فدفع إلى علي بن أبي طالب (عليه السلام) سهمين فقال الناس: يا رسول الله، دفعت إلى علي بن أبي طالب سهمين وهو بالمدينة متخلف! فقال: معاشر الناس، ناشدتكم بالله وبرسوله، ألم تروا إلى الفارس الذي حمل على المشركين من يمين العسكر فهزمهم، ثم رجع إلي فقال: يا محمد، إن لي معك سهما، وقد جعلته لعلي بن أبي طالب؟ وهو جبرئيل (عليه السلام). معاشر الناس، ناشدتكم بالله وبرسوله، هل رأيتم الفارس الذي حمل على المشركين من يسار العسكر فهزمهم، ثم رجع فكلمني، وقال لي: يا محمد، إن لي معك سهما، وقد جعلته لعلي بن أبي طالب (عليه السلام)؟ وهو ميكائيل، فوالله ما دفعت إلى علي إلا سهم جبرئيل وميكائيل (عليهما السلام) فكبر الناس بأجمعهم (2).

Al-Hasan b. Muhammad b. Sa`id al-Hashimi al-Kufi narrated to us. He said: Furat b. Ibrahim b. Furat al-Kufi narrated to us. He said: `Ali b. Muhammad b. al-Hasan al-Lu’lu’I narrated to us. He said: `Ali b. Nuh al-Jina’i narrated to us. He said: My father narratedto me from Muhammad b. Marwan from Abi Dawud from Mu`ath b. Salim from Bishr b. Ibrahim al-Ansari from Khalifa b. Sulayman al-Juhni from Abi Salama b. `Abd al-Rahman from Abi Hurayra. He said: The Prophet (s) went out to battle. When he returned to Medina, where `Ali (as) had been put in charge of its people, he divided the spoils and gave two shares to `Ali b. Abi Talib (as). So, the people said: O Messenger of Allah! You have given `Ali b. Abi Talib two shares, even though he [stayed behind and] was put in charge of Medina! So, he said: O people! I plead you by Allah and by His Messenger: did you not see the knight that attacked the pagans to the right of the garrison? He returned to me and said: “O Muhammad! I have one share with you, and I have dedicated it to `Ali b. Abi Talib.” That was Gabriel. O people! I plead you by Allah and by His Messenger: did you not see the knight that attacked the pagans to the left of the garrison? He returned to me and said: “O Muhammad! I have one share with you, and I have dedicated it to `Ali b. Abi Talib.” That was Michael. So, by Allah, I have only given the share of Gabriel and Michael (as) to `Ali. So, all the people recited a takbir.

10 - حدثنا محمد بن أحمد السناني، قال: حدثنا محمد بن جعفر الكوفي الاسدي، قال: حدثنا محمد بن إسماعيل البرمكي، عن عبد الله بن أحمد، عن أبي أحمد الازدي، عن عبد الله بن جندب، عن أبي عمر العجمي، عن الصادق جعفر بن محمد، عن أبيه، عن آبائه، عن علي بن أبي طالب (عليهم السلام)، قال: قال رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله): قال الله جل جلاله: أنا الله لا إله إلا أنا، خلقت الملوك،  وقلوبهم بيدي، فأيما قوم أطاعوني جعلت قلوب الملوك عليهم رحمة، وأيما قوم عصوني جعلت قلوب الملوك عليهم سخطة، ألا لا تشغلوا أنفسكم بسب الملوك، توبوا إلي أعطف قلوبهم عليكم (1).
