Muhammad b. Ahmad al-Sinani narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. Ja`far al-Kufi al-Asadi narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. Isma`il al-Barmaki narrated to us from `Abdullah b. Ahmad from Abi Ahmad al-Azdi from `Abdullah b. Jundub from Abi `Umar al-`Ajami from al-Sadiq Ja`far b. Muhammad from his father from his forefathers from `Ali b. Abi Talib . He said: The Messenger of Allah (s) said:

Allah said: I am Allah, there is no god but Me. I created the kings, and their hearts are in My hand. When a people obey Me, I make their kings’ hearts a mercy on them. When a people disobey me, I make their kings’ hearts a tribulation against them. Do not busy yourselves with insulting the kings – repent to Me, and I will make their hearts kind to you.
