وَمَن كَانَ فِي هَذِهِ أَعْمَى فَهُوَ فِي الْآخِرَةِ أَعْمَى وَأَضَلُّ سَبِيلًا
But whoever has been blind in this [world], will be blind in the Hereafter, and [even] more astray from the [right] way.

Commentary on Quran 17:72
[Pooya/Ali Commentary 17:72] Blindness, in this verse, means "not seeing the light and going farther and farther away from the right path." Those whose hearts are not filled with the light of true belief in Allah shall be deprived of seeing the light of salvation and bliss.
