4. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from al-Husayn ibn Sa‘id from Hammad ibn ‘Isa from Shu’ayb ibn Ya’qub from abu Basir who has narrated the following:
“Once, abu ‘Abd Allah , was asked about the case of a man who divorces his wife. He informs her about it only after one year. He (the Imam) said, ‘If two just witness testify to prove it, she does not need to complete any ‘Iddah (waiting period), otherwise, she must commence her ‘Iddah (waiting period) from the day she is informed.’”
