Ali ibn Hatim from Muhammad ibn Amr from Ali ibn Muhammad ibn Ziyad from Ja’far ibn Muhammad ibn Ubaydullah from Abdillah ibn Maymun from his father from Abu Ja’far عليه السلام, peace be upon him, who said:
Imam al-Baqir
عليه السلام said: “There is no God but Allah
سبحانه وتعالى, the Forbearing, the Generous. There is no God but Allah
سبحانه وتعالى, the Most High, the Most Great. Glory be to Allah
سبحانه وتعالى, the Lord
عز وجل of the seven heavens and the Lord
عز وجل of the seven earths and the Lord
عز وجل of the Great Throne. ‘And all praise is due to Allah
سبحانه وتعالى, Lord of the worlds’. (Surah As-Saffat
37:182) O’ Allah
سبحانه وتعالى, I ask You
عز وجل by Your impenetrable armor, by Your power, Your greatness, and Your authority, to protect me from the accursed Satan and from the evil of every obstinate tyrant. O’ Allah
سبحانه وتعالى, I ask You
عز وجل by my love for You
عز وجل, and by my love for Your Messenger may Allah
سبحانه وتعالى bless him and his family, And by my love for the family of Your Messenger
صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم, may Your blessings be upon him and upon all of them. O’ One who is better for me than my father and my mother and all people, Ordain for me better than what I would ordain for myself, and better than what my father and my mother would ordain for me. You
عز وجل are Generous and do not withhold, Forbearing and not ignorant, Mighty and never humiliated. O’ Allah
سبحانه وتعالى, for the one whose trust and hope is in the people, You
عز وجل are my trust and my hope. Ordain for me the best of outcomes, with well-being, and make me content with what You
عز وجل have decreed for me. O’ Allah
سبحانه وتعالى, send blessings upon (Prophet) Muhammad
صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم and the family of Muhammad
صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم, and clothe me in Your protective well-being. And if You
عز وجل try me with affliction, then grant me patience, though well-being is more beloved to me.”
