1. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Muhammad ibn al-Husayn and Ahmad ibn Muhammad from all from ‘Uthman ibn ‘Isa from Sama‘ah who has said the following:

“Abu ‘Abd Allah , has said, ‘It is desirable for the Imam who delivers sermons for the people on Friday to wear turban in winter and a Yamaniy or ‘Adaniy gown. He must deliver the sermon in a standing position. In it he praises Allah and speaks of His glory, then advises people to observe piety (taqwa’) before Allah, reads a small Surah (chapter) from al-Quran. He then sits down, then stands up and praises Allah, speaks of His glory and says Salawat, (O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause). He prays for the Imam of the Muslims and asks forgiveness from Allah for the believers, male and female. When he completes the sermon the caller readies people for Salah (prayer) and the Imam performs Salah (prayer) of two Rak‘at. In the first Rak‘at he reads Surah (chapter) al-Jumu‘ah after al-Fatihah, and in the second Rak‘at Surah (chapter) al-Munafiqun after al-Fatihah.”’
