Muhammad b. `Ali Majiluwayh narrated to us. He said: My uncle Muhammad b. Abi’l Qasim narrated to me from Muhammad b. `Ali al-Kufi from `Ali b. `Uthman from Muhammad b. al-Furat from Abi Ja`far Muhammad b. `Ali al-Baqir from his father from his grandfather . He said: The Messenger of Allah (s) said:

Surely, `Ali b. Abi Talib is the vicegerent of Allah and my vicegerent, the Proof of Allah and my Proof, the gate of Allah and my gate, the elect of Allah and my elect, the beloved of Allah and my beloved, the friend of Allah and my friend, and the sword of Allah and my sword. He is my brother, my companion, my vizier, and my deputy. His lovers and my lovers, his haters are my haters, his supporters are my supporters, his enemies are my enemies, his war is my war, his peace is my peace, his words are my words, and his order is my order. His wife is my daughter, and his descendants are my descendants. He is the Master of Deputies and the best of my Nation.
