الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ مُعَلَّى بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْوَشَّاءِ عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ سِرْحَانَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ لَا تَأْكُلْ فِي آنِيَةِ الذَّهَبِ وَ الْفِضَّةِ .
1. Al-Husayn from Muhammad has narrated from Mu‘alla’ ibn Muhammad from al-Washsha’ from Dawud ibn Sarhan who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah , has said, ‘Do not eat from the utensils of gold and silver.
مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ بَزِيعٍ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ أَبَا الْحَسَنِ الرِّضَا ( عليه السلام ) عَنْ آنِيَةِ الذَّهَبِ وَ الْفِضَّةِ فَكَرِهَهُمَا فَقُلْتُ قَدْ رَوَى بَعْضُ أَصْحَابِنَا أَنَّهُ كَانَ لِأَبِي الْحَسَنِ ( عليه السلام ) مِرْآةٌ مُلَبَّسَةٌ فِضَّةً فَقَالَ لَا وَ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ إِنَّمَا كَانَتْ لَهَا حَلْقَةٌ مِنْ فِضَّةٍ وَ هِيَ عِنْدِيثُمَّ قَالَ إِنَّ الْعَبَّاسَ حِينَ عُذِرَ عُمِلَ لَهُ قَضِيبٌ مُلَبَّسٌ مِنْ فِضَّةٍ مِنْ نَحْوِ مَا يُعْمَلُ لِلصِّبْيَانِ تَكُونُ فِضَّتُهُ نَحْواً مِنْ عَشَرَةِ دَرَاهِمَ فَأَمَرَ بِهِ أَبُو الْحَسَنِ ( عليه السلام ) فَكُسِرَ .
2. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Muhammad ibn ’Isma‘il ibn Bazi‘ who has said the following: “I once asked abu al-Hassan, al-Rida’ , about the utensils of gold and silver which he disliked and I then said, ‘It is narrated from certain persons of our people that abu al-Hassan
, had a mirror that had a silver covering.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘No, all praise belongs to Allah. It had only a ring of silver and it is with me.’ He then said, ‘When al- ‘Abbas was circumcised a stick with a silver covering was made for him like things that are made for children. It had about ten dirham of silver and abu al-Hassan, commanded to break it.’”
عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ حَمَّادٍ عَنِ الْحَلَبِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ لَا تَأْكُلْ فِي آنِيَةٍ مِنْ فِضَّةٍ وَ لَا فِي آنِيَةٍ مُفَضَّضَةٍ .
3. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from ibn abu ‘ Umayr from Hammad from al-Halabiy who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah , has said, ‘Do not eat from the utensils of silver or that which is silver-coated.’”
عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنِ ابْنِ مَحْبُوبٍ عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ رَزِينٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ ( عليه السلام ) أَنَّهُ نَهَى عَنْ آنِيَةِ الذَّهَبِ وَ الْفِضَّةِ .
4. A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad, from ibn Mahbub from al-‘Ala’ ibn Razin from Muhammad ibn Muslim who has said the following: “Abu Ja‘far , prohibited the use of utensils of gold and silver.’”
مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ فَضَّالٍ عَنْ ثَعْلَبَةَ عَنْ بُرَيْدٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) أَنَّهُ كَرِهَ الشُّرْبَ فِي الْفِضَّةِ وَ فِي الْقَدَحِ الْمُفَضَّضِ وَ كَذَلِكَ أَنْ يُدَّهَنَ فِي مُدْهُنٍ مُفَضَّضٍ وَ الْمُشْطُ كَذَلِكَ .
5. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ibn Faddal from Tha’labah from Burayd who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah , disliked drinking from silver and silver-coated utensils as well as silver coated containers of perfumes and combs.’”
عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ صَالِحِ بْنِ السِّنْدِيِّ عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ بَشِيرٍ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ أَبِي الْمِقْدَامِ قَالَ رَأَيْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) قَدْ أُتِيَ بِقَدَحٍ مِنْ مَاءٍ فِيهِ ضَبَّةٌ مِنْ فِضَّةٍ فَرَأَيْتُهُ يَنْزِعُهَا بِأَسْنَانِهِ .
6. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from Salih ibn al-Sindiy from Ja‘far ibn Bashir from ‘ Arnr ibn abu Miqdam who has said the following: “I saw abu ‘Abd Allah , when a bowl of water was brought to him (the Imam) in which there was a patch of silver, removing it with his teeth.’”
عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ حَسَّانَ عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ بَكْرٍ عَنْ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ مُوسَى ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ آنِيَةُ الذَّهَبِ وَ الْفِضَّةِ مَتَاعُ الَّذِينَ لَا يُوقِنُونَ .
7. A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from Ali ibn Hassan from Musa ibn Bakr who has said the following: “Abu al-Hassan, Musa , has said, ‘Utensils of gold and silver are of the assets of those who do not have certainty (in the laws of Allah).”’
