Tahdhīb al-Aḥkām

مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ اَلنَّوْفَلِيِّ عَنِ اَلسَّكُونِيِّ عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ آبَائِهِ عَلَيْهِمُ اَلسَّلاَمُ قَالَ:» إِنَّ رَسُولَ اَللَّهِ صَلَّى اَللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ كَانَ إِذَا أَفْطَرَ قَالَ» اَللَّهُمَّ لَكَ صُمْنَا وَ عَلَى رِزْقِكَ أَفْطَرْنَا فَتَقَبَّلْهُ مِنَّا ذَهَبَ اَلظَّمَأُ وَاِبْتَلَّتِ اَلْعُرُوقُ وَ بَقِيَ اَلْأَجْرُ««.

Muhammad ibn Yaqub, from Ali ibn Ibrahim, from his father, from al-Nawfali, from al-Sakuni, from Imam Jafar ibn Muhammad (a.s), from his fathers (a.s), peace be upon them: Imam (a.s) said: “When the Messenger of Allah (swt), may Allah (swt) bless him and his family, broke the fast, He (saws) would say: ‘O Allah (swt), for You (swt) we fasted, and upon Your (swt) provision we broke the fast, so accept it from us. The thirst has gone, the veins have become moist, and the reward remains.’” (Allahumma laka sumna, wa ‘ala rizqika aftarna, fa-taqabbalhu minna. Dhahaba al-zama’u, wa ibtallati al-‘uruqu, wa baqiya al-ajru)

وَ عَنْهُ عَنِ اَلْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ سَعْدَانَ عَنْ أَبِي بَصِيرٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اَللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ قَالَ: »تَقُولُ فِي كُلِّ لَيْلَةٍ مِنْ شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ عِنْدَ اَلْإِفْطَارِ إِلَى آخِرِهِ اَلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ اَلَّذِي أَعَانَنَا فَصُمْنَا وَرَزَقَنَا فَأَفْطَرْنَا اَللَّهُمَّ تَقَبَّلْ مِنَّا وَ أَعِنَّا عَلَيْهِ وَسَلِّمْنَا فِيهِ وَتَسَلَّمْهُ مِنَّا فِي يُسْرٍ مِنْكَ وَعَافِيَةٍ وَ اَلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ اَلَّذِي قَضَى عَنَّا يَوْماً مِنْ شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ

And from him, from al-Husayn ibn Muhammad, from Ahmad ibn Ishaq, from Sa’adan, from Abu Basir, from Abu Abdillah (a.s), peace be upon him, who said: Imam (a.s) said: “You say on every night of the month of Ramadan at the time of breaking the fast, until its end: ‘Praise belongs to Allah (swt), who helped us, so we fasted, and provided for us, so we broke our fast. O Allah (swt), accept from us, help us in it, keep us safe in it, and receive it from us with ease from You (swt) and well-being. And praise belongs to Allah (swt), who has completed for us a day from the month of Ramadan.” (Alhamdu lillahi alladhi a‘anana fa-sumna, wa razaqana fa-aftarna. Allahumma taqabbal minna, wa a‘inna ‘alayhi, wa sallimna fihi, wa tasallamhu minna fi yusrin minka wa ‘afiyah. Walhamdu lillahi alladhi qada ‘anna yawman min shahri Ramadan)

عَلِيُّ بْنُ اَلْحَسَنِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ اَلْحَسَنِ بْنِ أَبِي اَلْجَهْمِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اَللَّهِ بْنِ مَيْمُونٍ اَلْقَدَّاحِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اَللَّهِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَلَيْهِمَا اَلسَّلاَمُ قَالَ:» جَاءَ قَنْبَرٌ مَوْلَى عَلِيٍّ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ بِفِطْرِهِ إِلَيْهِ« قَالَ» فَجَاءَ بِجِرَابٍ فِيهِ سَوِيقٌ عَلَيْهِ خَاتَمٌ« قَالَ» فَقَالَ لَهُ رَجُلٌ يَا أَمِيرَ اَلْمُؤْمِنِينَ إِنَّ هَذَا لَهُوَ اَلْبُخْلُ تَخْتِمُ عَلَى طَعَامِكَ« قَالَ» فَضَحِكَ عَلِيٌّ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ« قَالَ» ثُمَّ قَالَ» أَوَ غَيْرُ ذَلِكَ لاَ أُحِبُّ أَنْ يَدْخُلَ بَطْنِي شَيْءٌ إِلاَّ شَيْءٌ أَعْرِفُ سَبِيلَهُ«« قَالَ» ثُمَّ كَسَرَ اَلْخَاتَمَ فَأَخْرَجَ مِنْهُ سَوِيقاً فَجَعَلَ مِنْهُ فِي قَدَحٍ فَأَعْطَاهُ إِيَّاهُ فَأَخَذَ اَلْقَدَحَ فَلَمَّا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَشْرَبَ قَالَ» بِسْمِ اَللَّهِ اَللَّهُمَّ لَكَ صُمْنَا وَ عَلَى رِزْقِكَ أَفْطَرْنَا فَتَقَبَّلْ مِنَّا» إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ اَلسَّمِيعُ اَلْعَلِيمُ«««.

Ali ibn al-Hasan, from Muhammad ibn al-Hasan ibn Abi al-Jahm, from Abdullah ibn Maymun al-Qaddah, from Abu Abdillah Imam Ja’far (a.s) from his father, Imam al-Baqir (a.s), peace be upon them both, who said: Imam (a.s) said: “Qanbar, the freed slave of Imam Ali (a.s), peace be upon him, came to Imam (a.s) with his food for breaking the fast.” Imam (a.s) said: “So he (Qanbar) came with a sack in which there was sawiq (porridge-like dish), upon which there was a seal. A man then said to Imam Ali (a.s): “O Commander of the Faithful (a.s), this is indeed miserliness, that you seal your food.’” Imam Ali (a.s), peace be upon him, laughed. Then Imam Ali (a.s) said: “Is it other than that? I do not like anything to enter my stomach except something whose path I know.” Then Imam Ali (a.s) broke the seal, took out some sawiq from it, placed some of it in a cup, and gave it to him (the man). Imam Ali (a.s) took the cup, and when he wanted to drink, he said: ‘In the name of Allah (swt). O Allah (swt), for You (swt) we have fasted, and upon Your (swt) provision we have broken our fast, so accept from us. Indeed, You (swt) are the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.’” (Bismillah. Allahumma laka sumna, wa ‘ala rizqika aftarna, fa-taqabbal minna. Innaka anta al-sami‘u al-‘alim)

وما ذكره في الكتاب من الدعاء في كل يوم وليلة وشرح الصلوات والتسبيح فقد مضى مستوفى فلا وجه لاعادته.

What he mentioned in the book of supplication for every day and night, and the explanation of the prayers and glorification (tasbih), has already passed in full, so there is no reason to repeat it.
