Abu Ja`far Muhammad b. `Ali b. al-Husayn b. Musa b. Babuwayh al-Qummi narrated to us. He said: Salih b. `Isa al-`Ijli narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. `Ali b. `Ali narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. al-Salt narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. Bukayr narrated to us. He said: `Abbad b. `Abbad al-Mahlabi narrated to us. He said: Sa`d b. `Abdullah narrated to us from Hilal b. `Abd al-Rahman from `Ali b. Zayd b. Jad`an from Sa`id b. al-Musayyib from `Abd al-Rahman b. Samura. He said: We were with the Messenger of Allah (s) one day when he said: I saw astonishing things yesterday. He said: So, we said: O Messenger of Allah! What did you see? Tell us – may we, our families, and our children be your sacrifice. So, he said: I saw a man from my Nation – when the Angel of Death came to take his soul, his goodness to his parents came and prevented it from occurring. I also saw man from my Nation – when the punishment of the grave came to him, his ablution came and prevented it from him. I also saw a man from my Nation who was surrounded by devils – when the remembrance of Allah came, it delivered him from them. I also saw a man from my Nation who was panting and surrounded by the angels of punishment – so his prayer came and prevented him from them. I also saw a man from my Nation who was panting and thirsty. Every time he would come to a pond, it would be prevented from him. Then, the fasting of the month of Ramadan came, fed him, and quenched him. I also saw a man from my Nation trying to gather with the prophets – every time he came to one, he was refused. So, bathing from sexual intercourse came, took him by the hand and sat him next to me. I also saw a man from my Nation with darkness before him, behind him, to his right, to his left, and beneath him – bogged down in darkness. So, his Hajj and `Umra came to him and took him out of darkness and brought him into light. I also saw a man from my Nation trying to speak to the believers, but they did not speak to him. So, his connecting with blood-relatives came to him and said: “O believers! Speak to him, for he would connect with his blood-relatives.” So, the believers spoke to him, made room for him; and he was among them. I also saw a man from my Nation who feared the glare and the evil of Hell, so his charity came, and it shaded his head and covered his face. I also saw a man from my Nation who was taken by the angels of punishment from all directions. Then, his enjoining of established virtues and prohibiting of evil (amr bil ma`ruf wa nahi `an al-munkar) took him out of their midst and took him to the angels of mercy. I also saw a man from my Nation who was on his knees with a veil between him and the mercy of Allah. So, the beauty of his character came, took him by the hand, and brought him into the mercy of Allah. I also saw a man from my Nation whose Book was placed to his left; so, his fear of Allah came and placed the Book to his right. I also saw a man from my Nation whose Scale was lightened, so his children who passed away before him came and made his Scale heavier. I also saw a man from my Nation standing at the edge of Hell, so his hope in Allah came and saved him from that. I also saw a man from my Nation fall into the Fire, so, the tears that he cried out of humility before Allah came and took him out of it. I also saw a man from my Nation trembling on the Path just as a ringworm trembles on the day of a storm. So, his good opinion of Allah came, stabilized him; and he passed through the Path. I also saw a man from my Nation creeping, crawling, and hanging on the Path – so his prayer came, stood him up on his feet; and he passed through the Path. I also saw a man from my Nation reaching the Gates of Paradise as though he came to a locked door; so, his sincere testimony that there is no god but Allah came and opened the gates; and he entered Paradise.
Ahmad b. al-Hasan al-Qattan narrated to us. He said: Al-Hasan b. `Ali al-Sikri narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. Zakariyya al-Basri narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. `Ammara narrated to us from his father. He said: I said to al-Sadiq Ja`far b. Muhammad : Inform me of the passing of Musa b. `Imran
. So, he said: When he met his fate, and depleted his term, and was cut away from food, the Angel of Death met him and said to him: “Peace be unto you, O he who Allah has spoken to.” So, Musa
said to him: “And also with you. Who are you?” So, he said: “I am the Angel of Death.” He said: “What brings you?” He said: “I have come to take your soul.” So, Musa
said to him: “Where will you take my soul out from?” He said: “From your mouth.” Musa said to him: “How, when I have spoken to my Lord [with these lips]?” He said: “Then [I will take your soul] from your hands.” He said: “How, when I have carried the Torah with them?” He said: “Then from your feet.” He said: “How, when I have walked upon Mount Sinai with them?” He said: “Then from your eyes.” He said: “How, while I still look to my Lord with continuous hope?” He said: “Then from your ears.” He said: “How, when I have heard the words of my Lord with them?” So, Allah revealed to the Angel of Death, instructing him not to take his soul until he himself wanted death. And the Angel of Death left him and allowed Musa
to remain as long as Allah wanted after that. And he called Yusha` b. Nun, deputed him, and ordered him to guard his role, and recommended that he deputes someone after him who can take charge of the role. And Musa
went away from his community, and in his seclusion, he passed by a man who was digging a grave. So, he asked him: “Can I watch you dig this grave?” So, the man said to him: “Of course”. So, he watched him until he dug the grave. Then, Musa b. `Imran lay down in it so that he may see how it was, then the cover was unveiled for him and he saw his place in Paradise. So, he said: “O my Lord! Let me be passed to you.” So, the Angel of Death took his soul in his place, buried him in the grave, and threw the dust onto him. The one who dug the grave was an angel in a human form, and that was in the wilderness. Then a caller called in the heavens, “Musa, the one whom Allah has spoken to, has died. So, which person does not die?” So, my father narrated to me from my grandfather from his father
that the Messenger of Allah (s) was asked about the grave of Musa b. `Imran
– where is it? So, he said: It is at the great path, at the red dune.

wore two silver bracelets, necklaces, earrings, and a tunic. She waited at the door of the house in preparation for the arrival of her father and her husband
. When the Messenger of Allah (s) came, he visited her. His companions stood at the door, not knowing whether they should wait there or leave, due to his prolonged stay with her. So, the Messenger of Allah (s) went out to them. Anger could be seen on his face as he went forth and sat on the pulpit. Fatima
thought that the Messenger of Allah (s) had done that because of what he had seen of her bracelets, necklaces, earrings, and tunic. So, she removed her bracelets, necklaces, earrings, and tunic, and sent for [a messenger] to bring them to the Messenger of Allah (s). She said to the messenger: Say to him (s): “Your daughter recites the salaam to you and says: put these toward the Cause of Allah.” When he came to him and informed him, he (s) said: Her father has fulfilled her sacrifice – three times. This world is not of Muhammad nor the Family of Muhammad. Had this world been worth the value of a wing of a mosquito to Allah, He would not have fed a disbeliever water from it. Then, he went and visited her.
