1 - حدثنا الشيخ الفقيه أبو جعفر محمد بن علي بن الحسين بن موسى بن بابويه القمي (رضي الله عنه)، قال: حدثنا محمد بن الحسن بن أحمد بن الوليد (رحمه الله)، قال: حدثنا الحسين بن الحسن بن أبان، عن الحسين بن سعيد، عن ابن أبي عمير، عن جميل بن صالح، عن محمد بن مروان، قال: سمعت الصادق جعفر بن محمد (عليهما السلام) يقول: إن لله تبارك وتعالى في كل ليلة من شهر رمضان عتقاء وطلقاء من النار إلا من أفطر على مسكر، فإذا كان آخر ليلة منه أعتق فيها مثل ما أعتق في جميعه (1).

يقول

Abu Ja`far Muhammad b. `Ali b. al-Husayn b. Musa b. Babuwayh al-Qummi (ra) narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. al-Hasan b. Ahmad b. al-Walid (rh) narrated to us. He said: Al-Husayn b. al-Hasan b. Aban narrated to us from al-Husayn b. Sa`id from Ibn Abi `Umayr from Jamil b. Salih from Muhammad b. Marwan. He said: I heard al-Sadiq Ja`far b. Muhammad (as) say: Surely, for every night in the month of Ramadan, Allah frees people from the Fire; except for those who break their fast on an intoxicant. On the last night of it, He frees as many people as He frees in the rest of the month.

2 - حدثنا أبي (رحمه الله)، قال: حدثنا سعد بن عبد الله، قال: حدثني أحمد ابن محمد بن عيسى، عن الحسين بن سعيد، عن فضالة، عن سيف بن عميرة، عن عبيد الله بن عبد الله، عمن سمع أبا جعفر الباقر (عليه السلام)، قال: قال رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله) لما حضر شهر رمضان، وذلك لثلاث بقين من شعبان، قال لبلال: ناد  في الناس، فجمع الناس، ثم صعد المنبر، فحمد الله وأثنى عليه، ثم قال: أيها الناس، إن هذا الشهر قد حضركم، وهو سيد الشهور، فيه ليلة خير من ألف شهر، تغلق فيه أبواب النيران، وتفتح فيه أبواب الجنان، فمن أدركه فلم يغفر له فأبعده الله، ومن أدرك والديه فلم يغفر له فأبعده الله، ومن ذكرت عنده فلم يصل علي فلم يغفر له فأبعده الله (1).

My father (rh) narrated to us. He said: Sa`d b. `Abdullah narrated to us. He said: Ahmad b. Muhammad b. `Isa narrated to me from al-Husayn b. Sa`id from Fadala from Sayf b. `Umayra from `Ubaydullah b. `Abdullah from one who heard Abu Ja`far al-Baqir (as). He said: At the approach of Ramadan, three days before the end of Sha`ban, the Messenger of Allah (s) said to Bilal: Call the people. So, the people gathered, and he climbed the pulpit. He praised Allah and commended Him, then said: O people! This month is approaching you, and it is the Master of Months. In it, there is a night that is better than a thousand months. In it, the gates of Hell are locked, and in it, the gates of Paradise are opened. Whoever comes unto it, yet is not forgiven, Allah cuts him off. Whoever has his parents, yet is not forgiven, Allah cuts him off. Whoever has me mentioned in his midst, yet does not send blessings on me, Allah cuts him off.

3 - حدثنا محمد بن إبراهيم، قال: حدثنا علي بن سعيد العسكري، قال: حدثنا الحسين بن علي بن الاسود العجلي، قال: حدثنا عبد الحميد بن يحيى أبو يحيى الحماني (2)، قال: حدثنا أبو بكر الهذلي، عن الزهري، عن عبيد الله بن عبد الله، عن ابن عباس، قال: كان رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله) إذا دخل شهر رمضان أطلق كل أسير، وأعطى كل سائل (3).

Yahya Abu Yahya al-Hamani narrated to us. He said: Abu Bakr al-Hadhali narrated to us from al-Zuhri from `Ubaydullah b. `Abdullah from Ibn `Abbas. He said: When the month of Ramadan would begin, the Messenger of Allah (s) would free every captive and give to every beggar.

4 - حدثنا الحسين بن أحمد بن إدريس (رحمه الله)، قال: حدثنا أبي، قال: حدثنا محمد بن الحسين بن أبي الخطاب، قال: حدثني عثمان بن عيسى، عن العلاء ابن المسيب، عن أبي عبد الله جعفر بن محمد، عن أبيه، عن آبائه (عليهم السلام)، قال: قال الحسن بن علي (عليهما السلام) لرسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله): يا أبه، ما جزاء من زارك؟ فقال: من زارني أو زار أباك أو زارك أو زار أخاك، كان حقا علي أن أزوره يوم القيامة حتى أخلصه من ذنوبه (4).

Al-Husayn b. Ahmad b. Idris (rh) narrated to us. He said: My father narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. al-Husayn b. Abi’l Khattab narrated to us. He said: `Uthman b. `Isa narrated to me from al-`Alaa’ b. al-Musayyib from Abi `Abdillah Ja`far b. Muhammad from his father from his forefathers (as). He said: Al-Hasan b. `Ali (as) said to the Messenger of Allah (s): O father! What is the reward of one who visits you? So, he said: Whoever visits me, your father, you, or your brother will have a right over me to visit him on the Day of Resurrection so that I may redeem him from his sins.

5 - حدثنا محمد بن موسى بن المتوكل (رحمه الله)، قال: حدثنا علي بن الحسين السعد آبادي، عن أحمد بن أبي عبد الله البرقي، عن محمد بن سالم، عن أحمد بن النضر، عن عمرو بن شمر، عن جابر، عن أبي جعفر (عليه السلام) أنه قال: لكل شئ ربيع، وربيع القرآن شهر رمضان (1).

Salim from Ahmad b. al-Nadr from `Amr b. Shimr from Jabir from Abi Ja`far (as). He said: For everything is a spring, and the spring of the Quran is the month of Ramadan.

6 - حدثنا الحسين بن أحمد (رحمه الله)، قال: حدثنا أبي، عن أحمد بن محمد بن عيسى، عن الحسن بن محبوب، عن جميل بن صالح، عن الفضيل بن يسار، عن الصادق جعفر بن محمد (عليهما السلام)، قال: الحافظ للقرآن العامل به، مع السفرة الكرام البررة (2).

Muhammad (as). He said: A memorizer of the Quran is one who acts by it; he will be with the righteous, noble [angelic] scribes.

7 - حدثنا محمد بن الحسن (رحمه الله)، قال: حدثنا الحسين بن الحسن بن أبان، عن الحسين بن سعيد، عن النضر بن سويد، عن يحيى الحلبي، عن محمد بن مروان، عن سعد بن طريف، عن أبي جعفر الباقر، عن أبيه، عن جده (عليهم السلام)، قال: قال رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله): من قرأ عشر آيات في ليلة لم يكتب من الغافلين، ومن قرأ خمسين آية كتب من الذاكرين، ومن قرأ مائة آية كتب من القانتين، ومن قرأ مائتي آية كتب من الخاشعين، ومن قرأ ثلاثمائة آية كتب من الفائزين، ومن قرأ خمسمائة آية كتب من المجتهدين، ومن قرأ ألف آية كتب له قنطار، والقنطار خمسون ألف مثقال ذهب، والمثقال أربعة وعشرون قيراطا، أصغرها مثل جبل احد، وأكبرها ما بين السماء والارض (3).

Muhammad b. al-Hasan (rh) narrated to us. He said: Al-Husayn b. al-Hasan b. Aban narrated to us from al-Husayn b. Sa`id from al-Nadr b. Suwayd from Yahya al-Halabi from Muhammad b. Marwan from Sa`d b. Turayf from Abi Ja`far al-Baqir from his father from his grandfather (as). He said: The Messenger of Allah (s) said: Whoever recites ten verses a night will not be recorded among the heedless. Whoever recites fifty verses will be recorded among those who remember (al-dhakirin). Whoever recites one hundred verses will be recorded among the submitters. Whoever recites two hundred verses will be recorded among the devout. Whoever recites three hundred verses will be recorded among the winners. Whoever recites five hundred verses will be recorded among the strivers. Whoever recites one thousand verses will be assigned a quantity of wealth equal to fifty thousand gold weights; each weight is twenty-four carats – the smallest of which is the size of Mount Uhud, and the largest of which is like that which is between heaven and Earth.

8 - حدثنا أبي (رحمه الله)، قال: حدثنا أحمد بن إدريس، عن محمد بن أحمد، عن محمد بن حسان، عن إسماعيل بن مهران، عن الحسن بن علي بن أبي حمزة البطائني، عن الحسين بن أبي العلاء، عن أبي عبيدة الحذاء، عن أبي جعفر الباقر (عليه السلام)، قال: من أوتر بالمعوذتين و (قل هو الله أحد) قيل له: يا عبد الله، أبشر فقد قبل الله وترك (1).

Abi Hamza al-Bata'ini from al-Husayn b. Abi'l `Alaa' from Abi `Ubayda al-Kadha' from Abi Ja`far al-Baqir (as). He said: Whoever recites the mu`awadhatayn and qul huwallahu ahad in witr, it is said to him: "O servant of Allah! Be glad, for Allah has accepted your witr."

9 - حدثنا الحسين بن إبراهيم (رحمه الله)، قال: حدثنا علي بن إبراهيم، عن أبيه إبراهيم بن هاشم، عن عبد الله بن ميمون، عن الصادق جعفر بن محمد، عن أبيه، عن آبائه (عليهم السلام)، قال: قال رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله): من سلك طريقا يطلب فيه علما، سلك الله به طريقا إلى الجنة، وإن الملائكة لتضع أجنحتها لطالب العلم رضى به، وإنه ليستعفر لطالب العلم من في السماء ومن في الارض، حتى الحوت في البحر، وفضل العالم على العابد كفضل القمر على سائر النجوم ليلة البدر، وإن العلماء ورثة الانبياء، إن الانبياء لم يورثوا دينارا ولا درهما، ولكن ورثوا العلم، فمن أخذ منه أخذ بحظ وافر (2).

Al-Husayn b. Ibrahim (rh) narrated to us. He said: `Ali b. Ibrahim narrated to us from his father Ibrahim b. Hashim from Abdullah b. Maymun from al-Sadiq Ja`far b. Muhammad from his father from his forefathers (as). He said: The Messenger of Allah (s) said: Whoever travels a path seeking knowledge, Allah makes him travel a path to Paradise. Surely, the angels put their wings on a seeker of knowledge that they become pleased with. Those in the heavens and the Earth - even the whales in the ocean - seek forgiveness for the seekers of knowledge. The virtue of the scholar over the worshiper is like that of the full moon over the stars. The scholars are the inheritors of the prophets, for the prophets do not bequeath gold or silver, but they bequeath knowledge - whoever takes from it has taken an abundant omen.

10 - حدثنا محمد بن موسى بن المتوكل (رحمه الله)، قال: حدثنا علي بن الحسين السعد آبادي، عن أحمد بن أبي عبد الله، قال: حدثنا أبو عبد الله الجاموراني، عن الحسن بن علي بن أبي حمزة، عن سيف بن عميرة، عن منصور بن حازم، عن الصادق جعفر بن محمد، عن أبيه، عن آبائه (عليهم السلام)، قال: قال رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله): مجالسة أهل الدين شرف الدنيا والآخرة (3).

Muhammad b. Musa b. al-Mutawakkil (rh) narrated to us. He siad: Ali b. al-Husayn al-Sa`d Abadi narrated to us from Ahmad b. Abi `Abdullah. He said: Abu `Abdillah al-Hamurani narrated to us from al-Hasan b. `Ali b. Abi Hamza from Sayf b. Umayra from Mansur b. Hazim from al-Sadiq Ja`far b. Muhammad from his father from his forefathers (as). He said: The Messenger of Allah (s) said: Sitting with the people of religion is the honour of this world and the Hereafter.

11 - حدثنا حمزة بن محمد بن أحمد بن جعفر بن محمد بن زيد بن علي بن الحسين بن علي بن أبي طالب (عليهم السلام)، قال: أخبرني علي بن إبراهيم بن هاشم سنة سبع وثلاثمائة، قال: حدثني أبي، عن علي بن معبد، عن الحسين بن خالد، عن علي بن موسى الرضا (عليهما السلام)، عن أبيه، عن آبائه (عليهم السلام)، قال: قال رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله): يا علي، أنت أخي ووزيري وصاحب لوائي في الدنيا والآخرة، وأنت صاحب حوضي، من أحبك أحبني، ومن أبغضك أبغضني (4).

Hamza b. Muhammad b. Ahmad b. Ja`far b. Muhammad b. Zayd b. `Ali b. al-Husayn b. `Ali b. Abi Talib (as) narrated to us. He said: `Ali b. Ibrahim b. Hashim informed me in 307 AH. He said: My father narrated to me from Ali b. Mu`abbad from al-Husayn b. Khalid from `Ali b. Musa al-Rida (as) from his father from his forefathers (as). He said: The Messenger of Allah (s) said: O `Ali! You are my brother, my vizier, and my standard bearer in this world and the Hereafter. You are the master of my Pond. Whoever loves you has loved me, and whoever hates you has hated me.
