الَّذِينَ يَصُدُّونَ عَن سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَيَبْغُونَهَا عِوَجًا وَهُم بِالْآخِرَةِ كَافِرُونَ
—Those who bar [others] from the way of Allah, and seek to make it crooked, and disbelieve in the Hereafter.

[Pooya/Ali Commentary 7:45] This verse refers to those who misinterpret the Quran, change or omit the sayings of the Holy Prophet and fabricate traditions in order to hinder or turn away people from the true path of Allah.
