al-A‘rāf (The Elevations)
ٱلْأَعْرَاف
7:46
وَبَيْنَهُمَا
حِجَابٌ
وَعَلَى
الْأَعْرَافِ
رِجَالٌ
يَعْرِفُونَ
كُلًّا
بِسِيمَاهُمْ
وَنَادَوْا
أَصْحَابَ
الْجَنَّةِ
أَن
سَلَامٌ
عَلَيْكُمْ
لَمْ
يَدْخُلُوهَا
وَهُمْ
يَطْمَعُونَ
wa-baynahumā ḥijābun wa-ʿalā l-ʾaʿrāfi rijālun yaʿrifūna kullan bi-sīmāhum wa-nādaw ʾaṣḥāba l-jannati ʾan salāmun ʿalaykum lam yadkhulūhā wa-hum yaṭmaʿūna
There will be a barrier between the people of Paradise and hell. There will be people on the heights who know everyone by their faces and who will say to the people of Paradise, "Peace be upon you." They hope to enter Paradise but are not yet therein.
