ٱلْأَنْعَام

6:79

ʾinnī wajjahtu wajhiya li-lladhī faṭara s-samāwāti wa-l-ʾarḍa ḥanīfan wa-mā ʾana mina l-mushrikīna

‘Indeed I have turned my face toward Him who originated the heavens and the earth, as a Hanif, and I am not one of the polytheists.’

ٱلْأَنْعَام

Indeed I

إِنِّي

[I] have turned

وَجَّهْتُ

my face

وَجْهِيَ

to the One Who

لِلَّذِي

created

فَطَرَ

the heavens

السَّمَاوَاتِ

and the earth

وَالْأَرْضَ

(as) a true monotheist

حَنِيفًا

and not

وَمَا

I (am)

أَنَا

of

مِنَ

the polytheists

الْمُشْرِكِينَ
