الزخرف

al-Zukhruf (The Gold Ornaments)

ٱلْزُّخْرُف

43:48

wa-mā nurīhim min ʾāyatin ʾillā hiya ʾakbaru min ʾukhtihā wa-ʾakhadhnāhum bi-l-ʿadhābi laʿallahum yarjiʿūna

We did not show them a sign but it was greater than the other, and We visited on them punishment so that they might come back.

ٱلْزُّخْرُف

And not

وَمَا

We showed them

نُرِيهِم

of

مِّنۡ

a Sign

ءَايَةٍ

but

إِلَّا

it

هِيَ

(was) greater

أَكۡبَرُ

than

مِنۡ

its sister

أُخۡتِهَاۖ

and We seized them

وَأَخَذۡنَٰهُم

with the punishment

بِٱلۡعَذَابِ

so that they may

لَعَلَّهُمۡ

return

يَرۡجِعُونَ

مِّنۡ

a Sign

ءَايَةٍ

but

إِلَّا

it

هِيَ

(was) greater

أَكۡبَرُ

than

مِنۡ

its sister

أُخۡتِهَاۖ

and We seized them

وَأَخَذۡنَٰهُم

with the punishment

بِٱلۡعَذَابِ

so that they may
