لِّيَجۡزِيَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ بِصِدۡقِهِمۡ وَيُعَذِّبَ ٱلۡمُنَٰفِقِينَ إِن شَآءَ أَوۡ يَتُوبَ عَلَيۡهِمۡۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ غَفُورٗا رَّحِيمٗا
that Allah may reward the true for their truthfulness, and punish the hypocrites, if He wishes, or accept their repentance. Indeed Allah is all-forgiving, all-merciful.

[Pooya/Ali Commentary 33:24] Aqa Mahdi Puya says: This verse refers to the faith of the companions of the Holy Prophet. The true believers among them are described in verse 23 who shall certainly attain success in the life of the hereafter, and in this verse the other category of the companions is addressed as pretenders who shall certainly be punished.
