وَلَمَّا رَءَا ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنُونَ ٱلۡأَحۡزَابَ قَالُواْ هَٰذَا مَا وَعَدَنَا ٱللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُۥ وَصَدَقَ ٱللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُۥۚ وَمَا زَادَهُمۡ إِلَّآ إِيمَٰنٗا وَتَسۡلِيمٗا
But when the faithful saw the confederates, they said, ‘This is what Allah and His Apostle had promised us, and Allah and His Apostle were true.’ And it only increased them in faith and submission.

Commentary on Quran 33:22
[Pooya/Ali Commentary 33:22] In contrast to what the hypocrites and the weak in faith said in verses 12 and 13, the sincere believers, when they saw the large number of allied forces, instead of losing heart and confidence decided to stand their ground against the enemy, with sure conviction that what Allah and the Holy Prophet had promised would come true. Refer to the commentary of verses 1 to 3 and 9 and 10 to 20, 21 of this surah and other verses mentioned therein.
