إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ سَبَقَتۡ لَهُم مِّنَّا ٱلۡحُسۡنَىٰٓ أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ عَنۡهَا مُبۡعَدُونَ
Indeed those to whom there has gone beforehand [the promise of] the best reward from Us will be kept away from it.

[Pooya/Ali Commentary 21:101] These verses were revealed when Uzayr, Isa and the angels were mentioned by the idolaters as gods worshipped by their followers. Refer to the preceding verses 98 to 100. Also refer to Maryam: 71 and 72.
