وَمَنْ أَعْرَضَ عَن ذِكْرِي فَإِنَّ لَهُ مَعِيشَةً ضَنكًا وَنَحْشُرُهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ أَعْمَى
But whoever disregards My remembrance, his shall be a wretched life, and We shall raise him blind on the Day of Resurrection.’

Commentary on Quran 20:124
[Pooya/Ali Commentary 20:124] For those who turn away from the divine guidance, the life of the world is a visionless and aimless apathy which will persist beyond this life, because they have ignored the signs of the Lord and therefore rightly deserve to be visionless on the day of resurrection. Blindness in the eternal life of the hereafter is far worse than physical blindness in the world of test and trial.
