فَمَا

اسْطَاعُوا

أَن

يَظْهَرُوهُ

وَمَا

اسْتَطَاعُوا

لَهُ

نَقْبًا

fa-mā sṭāʿū ʾan yaẓharūhu wa-mā staṭāʿū lahū naqban

Thus were they made powerless to scale it or to dig through it.
