9. A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from Ja‘far ibn Muhammad from ibn al-Qaddah who has said the following:
“Abu ‘Abd Allah , has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, had a sheet that was from Wars (a place in Yemen). He (the Messenger of Allah) would use it in the family. The color of the sheet had left marks on him (the Messenger of Allah).’ Abu Ja‘far
, has said, ‘We would use al-Mu‘asfar (dye with safflower) clothes at home.’”
