Al-Kāfi - Volume 6 > AI-Fuqa’ (Beer)
Hadith #14

مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُوسَى عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ الْوَشَّاءِ عَنْ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ الرِّضَا ( صلوات الله عليه ) قَالَ كُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ حَرَامٌ وَ كُلُّ مُخَمَّرٍ حَرَامٌ وَ الْفُقَّاعُ حَرَامٌ .

14. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Muhammad ibn Musa from Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from al-Hassan ibn Ali al-Washsha’ who has said the following: “Abu al-Hassan, al-Rida’, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said, ‘All intoxicating substances are unlawful, everything confusing the power of reason is unlawful and al-Fuqa’ (beer) is unlawful.’”
