5. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ‘Abd Allah ibn Ibrahim al-Mada’iniy who has said the following: “Abu al-Hassan , has said, ‘There are two unbelieving canals and two believing ones. The two believing canals are Euphrates and Nile of Misr (Egypt) and the unbelieving canals are Tigris and the canal of Balkh.’”
