2. Ali has narrated from his father from Safwan who has said the following: “I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah عليه السلام, about slaughtering of cows in the upper part of the chest. He (the Imam) said, ‘Cows are slaughtered by cutting the throat; and if it is Nahr (a cut in the upper part of the chest) in the case of cows, it is not lawfully slaughtered.’”
