2. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Muhammad ibn al-Husayn and a number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ‘Uthman ibn ‘Isa from Sama‘ah from abu Basir who has said the following: “He (the Imam) , has said, ‘It is necessary that in marriage in the manner of al- Mut‘ah (advantageous marriage) and its conditions one must say, “I form marriage with you in the manner of al-Mut‘ah (advantageous marriage) for so and so many days with such and such amount of dirham as mahr (dower), a marriage free of indecency according to the book of Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, and the Sunnah of Allah’s Holy prophet, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, that you will not inherit me and I will not inherit you and that you must complete forty- five days of waiting period’” and certain ones have said that it is one cycle of Hayd (menses).”
