2. A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from Ja’far ibn Muhammad al-Ash’ariy from ‘Abd Allah ibn Maymun al- Qaddah who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah , has said that Ali ibn al-Husayn
, when solemnizing a marriage at the table of food would say no more than his saying, ‘All praise belongs to Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, he would ask forgiveness from Allah and say, ‘We have given to you in marriage on the condition of Allah.’ Then Ali ibn Al-Husayn
, would say, ‘If Allah is praised then Khutbah is complete (proposal, or the speech before solemnization).”’
