1. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ibn Khalid from his father from ‘Abd Allah ibn al-Qasim al-Hadramiy from ‘Abd Allah ibn Sinan who has said the following:

“Abu ‘Abd Allah , has said, ‘In the time of the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, a man left for a journey and instructed his wife not to leave her house until he comes back. He (the Imam) said that her father became ill so the woman sent someone to the Holy Prophet saying, ‘My husband has gone on a journey and has instructed me not to leave the house until he comes back but my father has become ill; if you command me to visit him and return home. 5 The Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, said, ‘No, you must stay home and obey your husband.’ He (the Imam) has said that her father’s illness became serious and she sent a messenger the second time asking, ‘If you command me to visit him.’ He (the Messenger of Allah) said, ‘No, you must stay home and obey your husband.’ He (the Imam) has said that her father died and she sent a messenger to him (the Messenger of Allah) if she can join in his funeral for Salat (prayer).’ He (the Messenger of Allah) said, ‘No, you must stay home and obey your husband.’ He (the Imam) has said that her father was buried and the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, sent her a message that said, ‘Allah has forgiven you and your father because of your obeying your husband.’”
