حدثنا أبي رحمه الله، قال: حدثنا سعد بن عبد الله، قال: حدثنا يعقوب بن يزيد، عن ابن أبي عمير، عن هشام بن الحكم، عن أبي عبد الله (عليه السلام)، قال: من لم يغفر له في شهر رمضان لم يغفر له إلى قابل الا أن يشهد عرفة.
My father رحمه الله narrated to us, saying that Saʿd b. ʿAbd Allāh narrated to him among others, saying that Yaʿqūb b. Yazīd narrated to him among others, from Ibn Abī ʿUmayr, from Hishām b. al-Ḥakam, from Abī ʿAbd Allāh عليه السلام, who said: “Whoever does not earn forgiveness in the (incumbent) month of Ramaḍān will not earn forgiveness until the next, unless he witnesses ʿArafa.” [1]
[1] This is a reference to the greater pilgrimage (al-Ḥajj) to be performed in the month of Dhū'l-Ḥijja. The pilgrimage includes a component at ʿArafa.
