Hadith.1480 - Imam Muhammad ibn Ali Al-Baqir عليه السلام said: "There is no Eid for the Muslims, whether it is Eid al-Adha or Eid al-Fitr, except that it renews grief for the family of Muhammad."
He was asked: "Why is that?"
Imam عليه السلام said: "Because they see their rightful position in the hands of others”.
Regarding the Eid prayer, it consists of two units (Rak'ahs) for both Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha. There is nothing before or after them, and they are not performed except with an Imam in a congregation. There is no individual or compensatory prayer for them. They have no Adhan (call to prayer) or Iqamah (second call); their "call" is the rising of the sun.
The Imam begins by making one Takbir (saying 'Allahu Akbar'), then recites Surah Al-Fatiha and Surah Al-A'la (87:1). He then makes five additional Takbirs, performing Qunoot (supplication) between each Takbir, and then bows (ruku') with the seventh Takbir, followed by two prostrations (Sujood).
When he stands for the second Rak'ah, he makes a Takbir, recites Surah Al-Fatiha and Surah Ash-Shams (91:1), then completes four additional Takbirs along with the Takbir for standing, before bowing with the fifth Takbir.
