Hadith.1368 - Imam عليه السلام said regarding the words of Allah سبحانه وتعالى, the Mighty and Majestic: "Indeed, good deeds remove bad deeds" (Surah Hud 11:114).
He عليه السلام explained, "The night prayer of a believer erases the sins committed during the day."
Allah سبحانه وتعالى, Blessed and Exalted, praised The Commander of the Faithful (Ali عليه السلام) in His Book for his observance of night prayer, saying:
˹Are they better˺ or those who worship ˹their Lord عز وجل˺ devoutly in the hours of the night, prostrating and standing, fearing the Hereafter and hoping for the mercy of their Lord عز وجل? Say, ˹O’ Prophet,˺ ”Are those who know equal to those who do not know?” None will be mindful ˹of this˺ except people of reason. (Surah Az-Zumar 39:9).
The "hours of the night" refer to its intervals.
