2. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from al-Husayn ibn Sa‘id from Fadalah ibn Ayyub from al-Husayn ibn ‘Uthman from ibn Muskan from abu Bakr al-Hadramiy who has said the following: “I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah , about a man who performs Salah (prayer) with dyes (paint) on him. He (the Imam) said, ‘He must not perform Salah (prayer) while it is on him. He must remove it when he wants to perform Salah (prayer).’ I (the narrator) then asked, ‘Is it acceptable if it is inside a piece of fabric which is clean?’ He (the Imam) said, ‘He must not perform Salah (prayer) while it is on him and a woman also must not perform Salah (prayer) while it is on her.’”
