Sulayman b. Ahmad al-Lakhmi narrated to us. He said: Al-Hadrami narrated to us. He said: `Abbad b. Ya`qub narrated to us. He said: Thabit b. Hammad narrated to us from Musa b. Suhayb from `Abada b. Nasi from `Abdullah b. Abi Awfa. He said:

The Messenger of Allah (s) made brotherhood bonds between his companions and he left `Ali out. So, he said to him: You have made brotherhood bonds between your companions, but you have left me out. So, he said: By He in whose hand is my soul! I have not left you to yourself. You are my brother, my deputy, and my inheritor. He said: What will I inherit from you, O Messenger of Allah? He said: What the prophets have inherited before me. They inherit the Book of their Lord and the tradition (sunna) of their prophet. You and your sons will be with me in my palace in Paradise.
