Muhammad b. al-Hasan b. Ahmad b. al-Walid narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. al-Hasan al-Saffar narrated to us. He said: Ayyub b. Nuh narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. Abi `Umayr narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. Humran narrated to me from al-Sadiq Ja`far b. Muhammad . He said:

Whoever [gossips] about his believing brother based on what he sees with his own eyes and hears with his own ears, he is the one whom Allah says regarding, “Surely, those who love to see indecency spread among the believers will suffer a painful punishment in this world and the Hereafter.” (24:19)
