Ahmad b. Muhammad b. Yahya al-`Attar narrated to us. He said: Sa`d b. `Abdullah narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. al-Husayn b. Abi’l Khattab narrated to us from `Abdullah b. `Abd al-Rahman al-Asm from `Abdullah al-Batal from `Amr b. Abi’l Miqdam from his father from Sa`id b. Jubayr from Ibn `Abbas. He said:

The Messenger of Allah (s) came out one day holding the hand of `Ali b. Abi Talib . He said: O people! O Bani Hashim! O Bani `Abd al-Mutalib! I am Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah. Surely, I was created from a clay that four from my Ahl al-Bayt have been graced with: I, `Ali, Hamza, and Ja`far. So, a person said: O Messenger of Allah! Will these four be riding with you on the Day of Resurrection? So, he said: May your mother be bereaved with you! None will ride [on anything on] that day except for four: I, `Ali, Fatima, and Salih the prophet of Allah. As for me, I will mount the Buraq. As for my daughter Fatima, she will mount my she-camel, “the Muscular”. As for Salih, he will mount the she-camel of Allah that was hamstrung. As for `Ali, he will mount a she-camel from the she-camels of Paradise – its reins will be of ruby, and it will wear two green garments. He will stop between Paradise and the Fire. The people will be sweating on that day, and a breeze will blow from the direction of the Throne, which will dry their sweat. The Angels of Proximity, the prophets, and the saints will say: “Who is this, other than an Angel of Proximity or a commissioned prophet?” So, a caller will call from the direction of the Throne: “O creation! This is not an Angel of Proximity or a commissioned prophet, but rather, he is `Ali b. Abi Talib, the brother of the Messenger of Allah in the world and in the Hereafter.”
