21. My father said: Ahmad ibn Idris said, on the authority of Muhammad ibn Ahmad, on the authority of `Ali ibn al-Sindi, on the authority of Hammad ibn `Isa, on the authority of alHusayn ibn al-Mukhtar, on the authority of Abu Basir, that Abu Ja`far al-Baqir said: I heard him saying that,

“Quarrelling destroys religion, puts an end to good deeds, and leaves nothing but doubt as its heir.”
