Abu Ja`far al-Baqir was asked to interpret the Word of Allah, the Mighty and High: `Allah is the light of heavens and the Earth; a likeness of His Light is as a niche.’ He replied: “The niche is the Chest of the Prophet of Allah in which is the lamp. The lamp is the knowledge in the glass. The glass is the Commander of the Faithful and the knowledge of the Prophet is with him .”
