1. Al-Husayn from Muhammad has narrated from Mu‘alla’ ibn Muhammad from Bistam ibn Murrah al-Farsiy who has said that narrated to us ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn Yazid al-Farsiy from Muhammad ibn Ma’ruf from Salih ibn Razin who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s), has said that ’Amir al-Mu’minin has said, ‘You must eat al- Harisah (mashed grains and meat) because it energizes you for worshipping for forty days. It was of the items in the table-spread with food that was revealed to the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause.’”

2. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Khalid from Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from al-Dihqan from Durust ibn abu Mansur from ‘Abd Allah ibn Sinan who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, Alayhi al-Salam, has said, ‘A Prophet of the Prophets of Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, complained against deficiency in going to bed with one’s wife and he was commanded to eat al-Harisah (mashed grains and meat).’”

3. In another Hadith in a marfu‘ manner the following is narrated: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, Alayhi al-Salam, has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, complained before Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, against back pain and He commanded him to eat grains with meat, that is, al-Harisah.”’

4. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from Muhammad ibn Sinan from Mansur al-Sayqal from his father from abu Basir who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, Alayhi al-Salam, has said that Allah, most Blessed, most High, sent to His Messenger, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, al-Harisah. It was of the kind planted in gardens of paradise, which is stirred by al-Hur al- ‘iyn as a gift and the Messenger of Allah ate it. It increased his power equal to forty men. This was something with which Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, wanted to make His Prophet, Muhammad, happy.’”
