Hadith #1

عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ أَبِي الْبِلَادِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ صَبِيحٍ قَالَ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) أَيَّ شَيْ‏ءٍ تُطْعِمُ عِيَالَكَ فِي الشِّتَاءِ قُلْتُ اللَّحْمَ فَإِذَا لَمْ يَكُنِ اللَّحْمُ فَالزَّيْتَ وَ السَّمْنَ قَالَ فَمَا يَمْنَعُكَ عَنْ هَذَا الْكَرْكُورِ فَإِنَّهُ أَمْرَأُ شَيْ‏ءٍ فِي الْجَسَدِ يَعْنِي الْمُثَلَّثَةَقَالَ وَ أَخْبَرَنِي بَعْضُ أَصْحَابِنَا أَنَّ الْمُثَلَّثَةَ يُؤْخَذُ قَفِيزُ أَرُزٍّ وَ قَفِيزُ حِمَّصٍ وَ قَفِيزُ بَاقِلَّى أَوْ غَيْرِهِ مِنَ الْحُبُوبِ ثُمَّ يُرَضُّ جَمِيعاً وَ يُطْبَخُ .

1. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Khalid from Yahya ibn Ibrahim ibn abu al-Balad from his father from al-Walid ibn Sabih who has said the following: “Abu ‘ Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, once asked, ‘What do you feed your family in winter?’ I replied, ‘I feed them meat, if there is no meat then it is oil and ghee.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘What prevents you from using for food this al-Kar kur which is the most palatable for the body, that is, the tri-mixture.’ Certain persons of our people informed me that this mixture consists of one-third rice, one-third beans and one-third kidney beans or other grains, which then are mixed together and cooked.’”



Hadith #2

مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ حَدِيدٍ عَنْ بَعْضِ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ إِنَّ التَّلْبِينَ يَجْلُو الْقَلْبَ الْحَزِينَ كَمَا تَجْلُو الْأَصَابِعُ الْعَرَقَ مِنَ الْجَبِينِ .

2. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from Ali ibn Hadid from certain persons of our people who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said, ‘al-Talbiyn (white flour cooked with oil that looks like milk) clears the sad heart, just as fingers wipe perspiration from the forehead.’”



Hadith #3

وَ رُوِيَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) لَوْ أَغْنَى عَنِ الْمَوْتِ شَيْ‏ءٌ لَأَغْنَتِ التَّلْبِينَةُ فَقِيلَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَ مَا التَّلْبِينَةُ قَالَ الْحَسْوُ بِاللَّبَنِ الْحَسْوُ بِاللَّبَنِ وَ كَرَّرَهَا ثَلَاثاً .

3. It is narrated from abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, who has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, ‘If anything can help one against death it can only be al- Talbinah.’ It was asked, ‘O Messenger of Allah, what is al-Talbinah?’ ‘It is al-Hasa’ (flour cooked with oil, sweet or without sweet) with milk, it is al-Hasa’ with milk,’ he (the Messenger of Allah) repeated it three times.’ “Sahl ibn Ziyad has narrated from Muhammad ibn al-Hassan ibn Shammun from al-Asamm from Misma‘ ibn ‘Abd al-Malik from abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, a similar Hadith.”
