1. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Khalid from Yahya ibn Ibrahim ibn abu al-Balad from his father from al-Walid ibn Sabih who has said the following: “Abu ‘ Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, once asked, ‘What do you feed your family in winter?’ I replied, ‘I feed them meat, if there is no meat then it is oil and ghee.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘What prevents you from using for food this al-Kar kur which is the most palatable for the body, that is, the tri-mixture.’ Certain persons of our people informed me that this mixture consists of one-third rice, one-third beans and one-third kidney beans or other grains, which then are mixed together and cooked.’”
2. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from Ali ibn Hadid from certain persons of our people who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said, ‘al-Talbiyn (white flour cooked with oil that looks like milk) clears the sad heart, just as fingers wipe perspiration from the forehead.’”
3. It is narrated from abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, who has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, ‘If anything can help one against death it can only be al- Talbinah.’ It was asked, ‘O Messenger of Allah, what is al-Talbinah?’ ‘It is al-Hasa’ (flour cooked with oil, sweet or without sweet) with milk, it is al-Hasa’ with milk,’ he (the Messenger of Allah) repeated it three times.’ “Sahl ibn Ziyad has narrated from Muhammad ibn al-Hassan ibn Shammun from al-Asamm from Misma‘ ibn ‘Abd al-Malik from abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, a similar Hadith.”
