1. A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ibn abu Nasr from those whom he has mentioned who has said the following: “I once asked abu ‘ Abd Allah , about the words of Allah, most Blessed, most High, ‘Those who are compelled without being rebels or transgressors . . (2:172) He (the Imam) said, ‘A rebel is one who rises against the Imam and a transgressor is one who cuts off the road and dead animals are not lawful for him.”’
