Muhammad ibn Yaqub, from Ali ibn Ibrahim, from his father, from Hammad ibn Isa, from Ibrahim ibn Umar al-Yamani, from Amr ibn Shimr, from Jabir, from Abu Ja’far (a.s), peace be upon him: Imam (a.s) said: “When the crescent of the month of Ramadan appeared, the Messenger of Allah (swt), may Allah (swt) bless him and his family, would face the qiblah, raise his hands, and say, ‘O Allah (swt), bring it upon us with security, faith, safety, Islam, encompassing well-being, abundant provision, and the removal of illnesses. O Allah (swt), grant us its fasting, its standing, and the recitation of the Quran within it. O Allah (swt), keep it sound for us, receive it from us, and keep us safe within it.’”

Hadith 2

And from him, from Ahmad ibn Muhammad, from Ali ibn al-Hasan, from Ali ibn Asbat, from al-Hakam ibn Miskin, who said: Amr ibn Shimr narrated to us, saying: I (narrator) heard Abu Abdillah (a.s), saying: “When the crescent of the month of Ramadan appeared, the Commander of the Faithful (a.s), peace be upon him, would turn toward the qiblah and say, ‘O Allah (swt), bring it upon us with security, faith, safety, Islam, and encompassing well-being. O Allah (swt), grant us its fasting, its standing, and the recitation of the Quran within it. O Allah (swt), keep it sound for us, receive it from us, and keep us safe within it.’”

Hadith 3

And from him, from a number of our companions, from Sahl ibn Ziyad, from Yaqub ibn Yazid, from Muhammad ibn Ibrahim al-Nawfali, from al-Husayn ibn al-Mukhtar, raising it, who said: The Commander of the Faithful (a.s), peace be upon him, said: “When you see the crescent, then do not depart (without saying), and say: ‘O Allah (swt), I ask You (swt) for the good of this month, its light, its victory, its blessing, its purity, and its provision. And I ask You (swt) for the good of what is in it and the good of what is after it, And I seek refuge in You (swt) from the evil of what is in it and the evil of what is after it. O Allah (swt), bring it upon us with security, faith, safety, Islam, blessing, God-wariness, and success in what You (swt) love and are pleased with.”
